Short Stories of BIG ARMS, Volume 1: Min Min

(Cubed Cinder)

It's always busy inside the Mintendo Noodle House, but it seems like today there was no way Min Min (wearing her usual outfit) could take a break as bowls of noodles galore came flying out of the kitchen and into the hands of anxious customers. She didn't consider it much of a surprise. The next big ARMS Grand Prix was coming up soon and that always drew a big crowd not only to the noodle house, but the entire city as well. Min Min placed a tray full of noodles down at a table with a family of four (two adults and two children), with both children wearing orange beanies and an orange mask like Min Min did.
"Here you go, everyone. Enjoy your noodles!" Min Min said. She did her best to speak English although it was still a little rough in some places given her Chinese roots.
"Ms. Min Min! You are going to win the next ARMS Grand Prix, right?" the little girl asked.
"Heh heh… well, I'll do my best. Just make sure you cheer extra loud for me!" Min Min said.
"We will, Ms. Min Min! Can we have your autograph?" the boy asked.
"Order up!!!" a male voice shouted in the background.
"Sorry, not right now. I have work to do. Maybe another time, okay?" Min Min said. The family nodded and watched as Min Min walked away and back towards the kitchen.

A little later that day, Spring Man, another noteworthy ARMS Grand Prix competitor, came walking inside. And he certainly came with an appetite, as his stomach grumbled very loudly which was picked up by more than a few customers. Spring Man giggled a bit, his way of saying sorry for the distraction, and he walked up to one of the counters. He watched as Min Min came walking out.
"Hey, Min Min!" Spring Man shouted. Min Min sighed and rolled her eyes. She always found Spring Man very annoying and looked forward to any opportunity to punch his lights out in the battle arena.
"What, Spring Man? I'm busy here." Min Min said.
"Think maybe you can hook me up with a couple bowls with extra cheese and pepperoni? I'm starving here." Spring Man said. Min Min rolled her eyes considering Spring Man was the only one brave enough to order a 'pizza ramen.'
"You're always hungry. I'm surprised you're not as fat as Lola Pop when she's inflated." Min Min said.
"Whoa there, tiger. You do those things when you get fired up. I'll wait patiently, I promise!" Spring Man said.
"Fine. Two bowls coming up." Min Min said.
"Thanks, Min Min! You're the best!" Spring Man said. Min Min turned around to walk back into the kitchen.
"Baichi…" Min Min muttered under her breath.
While Spring Man waited for the next few minutes, he decided to mingle with some of the crowd, although most didn't like his mentality of, 'Hey! I'm Spring Man! I'll be the next ARMS Grand Prix champion! Just you wait!'

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Min Min had to repeatedly wipe her forehead from the sweat of working so hard. She finally had to stop for a drink, and that's when she walked towards her locker where she saw a shot-sized solid green bottle and pulled it out. She stared longingly at the label, which read 'Helix Juice - 100% guaranteed to make you feel big and strong with everlasting energy' with a picture of the ARMS fighter, Helix, on the side.
"Pfffft… I'm sure there is all sorts of artifical junk in this thing, but that saleswoman yesterday was persistent. And the bottle was free, so…" Min Min said. She twisted open the bottle and drank every last drop of the juice. Her face cringed from the weird taste of the juice, but at least it didn't kill her. Again, Min Min rolled her eyes as she wondered why she tried the drink in the first place. She probably should've put her foot down, like she often does in and out of ARMS matches, and said no. But she couldn't ponder what happened yesterday any longer. It was time to get back to work in bringing bowls of noodles to the customers of her family restaurant.

Spring Man, in the meantime, once again felt his stomach gurgle.
"Whew… man. My stomach's got more bounce than my arms do!" Spring Man said. He then looked over at a nearby unoccupied table where he saw a bowl of fresh noodles sitting there. Almost on cue, his stomach grumbled again quickly.
"Well, I wouldn't want a bowl like that to go to waste." Spring Man said as he ran over and sat down at the table, picking up the chopsticks and eating away. Even though it wasn't his favorite flavor, at this point he would eat just about anything.
That, however, would be the start of his big trouble. He was about to slurp another few noodles into his mouth, when suddenly…

"SPRING MAAAAAAAAN!!!!!" a female voice screamed out. Spring Man, and every other customer inside, looked over towards the kitchen entrance where he saw a VERY irate-looking Min Min.
"Oh… um… hi, Min Min! I… well… I hope you don't mind. I was seconds away from…" Spring Man started to say, but Min Min interrupted him.
"SHUT UP! That bowl was meant for another customer!!!" Min Min shouted.
"But the bowl was just sitting here just begging to become cold and…" Spring Man, again to find himself cut off.
"For a customer who's ALWAYS HERE AROUND THIS TIME!!! Can't you sit your butt down for at least five minutes and WAIT FOR YOUR BOWLS OF RAMEN LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!?!?!?!??" Min Min screamed. Spring Man could feel the angry vibes coming from Min Min even if he was 10 miles away and tried his best to calm him down.
"Look, Min Min, I'm sorry, I really am. I'll pay for that bowl too, honest!" Spring Man said. But Min Min didn't let up. Spring Man and everyone else watched as Min Min's hands suddenly magically changed to that of two of her signature ARMS, the Dragon and the Megawatt.
"GET OUT!!!!!!!" Min Min screamed as she extended the Megawatt forward. Spring Man jumped to his feet to not only avoid getting smashed but also electrocuted, able to make it out of the way as the table he sat at got destroyed. Spring Man didn't think twice and ran like mad outside of the restaurant.

But that wasn't enough for Min Min. The rage was rapidly building up inside of her. She wanted to punish him more.
"He will pay… he must pay for disrespecting the Mintendo Noodle House!!!" Min Min said. What happened next took the customers by surprise. Min Min began to grow. Already her head was pushing against the ceiling.
"Oh my word! She's growing!" one of the customers said.
"Let's get out of here!" a man said as he and everyone else inside ran towards the entrance of the restaurant as pieces of the ceiling broke off and rained down.

By the time everyone was able to get out safely, the roof of the restaurant burst apart as Min Min broke through and continued to grow bigger and bigger. Some stayed behind wondering how big she was going to grow, but others ran as fast as they could especially as Min Min's green sneakers bowled over the walls and rapidly got closer and closer the bigger Min Min grew.
As for Min Min herself, she actually had no idea yet she was growing in size. All she could think about was wanting to get revenge on Spring Man for 'stealing' that unclaimed bowl of ramen. It actually didn't hit her until her growth spurt finished. Min Min stood just over 164 feet tall… she had grown exactly 30 times her normal size. Min Min took a look around and finally realized what happened.
"Huh? I am gigantic, all of a sudden? Oy… how am I going to explain to Mom and Dad what happened to the restaurant?" Min Min said as she looked down at what was left of the restaurant between her shoes.
"Was it that juice I drank? It has to be…" Min Min said to herself. But then she looked out in the distance and saw Spring Man continuing to run for his life. That's when she put another viciously angry look on her face.
"Who cares how it happened. At least now I can crush Spring Man like a limp noodle now!" Min Min said as she took a step forward, leaving behind a loud boom sound and cracking the road with each step she took.
Spring Man kept running and running until he heard a crashing sound behind him. He was in shock as he watched the Mintendo Noodle House suddenly get replaced with a rapidly growing Min Min. He couldn't believe how big she ended up growing to, she was almost as tall as the nearest skyscraper! He knew one thing for sure… he was dead anchovies if Min Min caught him, and so he got back to running so he could get a head start.

It was full on chaos for the rest of the city, though, as Min Min marched after her fellow ARMS competitor, not caring whatsoever for whatever was in her path. People dove left and right dodging one of the two giant sneakers that fell from the sky.
"Come back here, little Spring Man. Big Min Min wants to have a big word with you!!" Min Min said as she continued to walk after Spring Man. The two kept a fair distance, as Spring Man used his springy arms to propel himself forward a few extra steps. Min Min, though, actually cracked a smile. The chase was proving quite exhilarating, like she was the cat and he was a mouse fleeing for its life. Spring Man turned to the left to run down another road, but Min Min couldn't wait to take that turn herself. She plowed right through a few buildings that stood in her way, knocking them down like dominoes and gaining ground on her prey.
"Dang! She's dead serious about catching me!" Spring Man shouted, noting how she knocked those buildings down without a hint of hesitation.
Min Min, however, didn't want to walk or plow through innocent buildings forever, so she tried shooting him with her Dragon arm. She shot a series of fireballs, which Spring Man swiftly dodged left and right. She next tried flattening him with the Megawatt, but again he was able to dodge the attacks… until the last slam which hit the road about two feet to his right. The shockwave caused him to lose his balance and fall down.
Spring Man quickly rolled onto his back where he saw the dragon design of the bottom of Min Min's shoe coming towards him. It always looked scary seeing it inches from his face during an ARMS match when he would have to dodge a kick attack from her, but to see it while she was a giantess put a lump in his throat.
"Yipes!" Spring Man said as he jumped up and dove out of the way, running into a nearby alleyway.

That made Min Min madder than before. However, before she could decide what to do with Spring Man, she felt something explode on her behind.
"What the!?" Min Min shouted. She looked where the explosion came from, and it was a series of tanks rolling up towards her. She also looked up and saw some jets coming in.
"Well well. The city's defense force that normally protects most of the arenas. Stay away if you wish to live! My fight is not with you!" Min Min said. However, either the tanks and jets didn't listen or they just didn't care, as they opened fire on the giantess once more. Although the attacks didn't do much damage, they definitely did aggrevate her. She felt it was important to take care of these 'pests' first before dealing further with Spring Man.
"I tried to be honorable and give you a chance to escape…" Min Min said as she rolled her eyes and stomped towards the tanks. She raised one of her legs high up in the air then thrust her shoe down with a resounding BOOM. Two of the tanks got completely crushed underneath her shoe, and a couple buildings toppled over from the force of the stomp. Min Min rubbed her shoe left and right before finally lifting it up and seeing what was left underneath.
"You tanks are like the flies that try to invade the Noodle House. You'll be stomped flat by my Kung Fu!" Min Min said as she stepped on another couple tanks. As for the few tanks that were left, which were backing away trying to retreat? Yeah, she made short work of those tanks by slamming her Megawatt down on them. Any tanks that didn't get crushed were electrocuted and eventually exploded.
Of course, the threat wasn't over yet as the jets continued to fire at the giantess. Min Min had enough as she felt her rush meter max out, and so her body started glowing yellow as she aimed her Dragon at the jets. It only took seconds for a massive laser beam to come shooting out of the Dragon's mouth and flat out vaporize the jets and the pilots who flew them.

While she still felt the power surging through her, Min Min turned her attention towards the buildings that Spring Man tried to slither his way through. Again, she was dead set on finding Spring Man and making him suffer for stealing that bowl of noodles, and so she had little regard for any civilians that might be living inside the two buildings she was staring at (fortunately they were both fully evacuated by now). Min Min unleashed a 'double punch attack,' with her Dragon firing another laser beam and Megawatt acting as a de facto wrecking ball as it tore right through the middle floors of the apartments. Both buildings were mere pieces of their former selves, and Spring Man was taken aback by the sheer power displayed by his giant opponent, even as rush mode expired.

But he got up and got running again, but this time, as Min Min marched right through the wreckage, he could not escape this next attack. Min Min shot a fireball from Dragon towards the closest building to Spring Man, causing its corner to collapse onto the road and block anyone from getting in or out that street.
"Eeeek! I'm trapped!" Spring Man said. He turned around to see where the giant Min Min was, and before he could think of a way out of this uncomfortable position, he watched as Min Min fired both her arms together towards him, causing a massive green beam between the hands to form. Spring Man knew she was trying to grab him, but the sheer size of the beam meant he had nowhere to go, and he found himself trapped as he got pulled up to her angry face.
"Now, Spring Man. Any last words before you become my appetizer?" Min Min said.
"Ummm… is that part of your new diet?" Spring Man asked.
"A sense of humor to the very end. Very noble, I must admit. But now I must bid you zaijian." Min Min said. She tossed Spring Man high in the air, and he could only watch as Min Min opened her mouth wide.
"Noooooooo!!!" Spring Man screamed as he tried not to think of the horrible way he was about to die, which was being digested by a giant Min Min.

But luck came down from heaven once again for Spring Man, like in a few matches during the last ARMS Grand Prix, for as he was descending, so was Min Min in the size department. Just like Min Min's growth spurt was, she found herself shrinking rapidly in size until 10-15 seconds later when she was back to her normal size. Before Min Min could wonder what happened, she looked up and saw Spring Man falling towards her. He eventually landed on top of her and the two crashed to the ground. Spring Man breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at Min Min right in the face.
"Heh heh… I guess I'd give you indigestion now." Spring Man said with a smile.
"Shut up." Min Min said as she kicked Spring Man right in the face to get him off her body. Spring Man could easily see the disgust in her face.
"Um… look. I swear I'm totally sorry about taking that bowl of noodles. You know I can't think straight when I'm hungry." Spring Man said as his stomach grumbled loudly again.
"Pffft… come on. I'll whip up an extra set of ramen bowls just for you." Min Min said.
"Huh? But the Noodle House was destroyed!" Spring Man said.
"After we rebuild it, which YOU'RE going to help me with!" Min Min said, suddenly with a smile on her face.
"Oy…" Spring Man said as he looked down at the ground and slumped his arms down while he and Min Min walked their way back to what was left of the Noodle House.
"Hey, Min Min, just one thing. How did you grow, anyway?" Spring Man asked.
"I don't know, but I'm certain it's because of that Helix Juice I drank." Min Min said.
"Huh? Helix Juice?" Spring Man asked.
"Long story, but meanwhile, I wonder why nobody's shown up to arrest me yet for property destruction." Min Min said, pondering another mystery along the way.

What she, Spring Man, and everyone in the city didn't know was that all these shenanigans were the work of one villainous woman. Somewhere deep in [NAME REDACTED], Dr. Coyle slammed her hands on the desk where her computer with large viewscreen was located.
"Darn it! That juice lasted waaaaaaaaaay shorter than I planned! Obviously I didn't use enough extract from the growth seed." Dr. Coyle said as she typed away at the keyboard looking at a diagram of some kind of seed, presumably the one that makes whoever drinks the Helix Juice grow.
"And yet I'll have to increase the dosage carefully. Too long and the consumer would never shrink back to normal… not even with an antidote!" Dr. Coyle said. She typed some more commands into her computer.
"At least my efforts to hack the police's computer system and make them think the giant Min Min was an ARMS Labs experiment is holding, even though some fools didn't get the message." Dr. Coyle said as she watched recorded footage of Min Min attacking both the tanks and the jets.
"Sigh… that's why they call it research. Still, once I've perfected this juice, I'll be the most unstoppable force in the entire world! HAHAHAHA!!!" Dr. Coyle said, following it up with her signature maniacal laughter.

She then cleared her throat and got back to working on the computer.
"Now then, I believe she'll be a fine test subject for Version 2.0.0 of my formula once it's been made..." Dr. Coyle said as she suddenly loaded up a video of one of Ribbon Girl's recent concerts.
