Short Stories of BIG ARMS, Volume 2: Ribbon Girl

(Cubed Cinder)

In a distant section of the city from where the mess involving the giant Min Min had happened earlier that day, Ribbon Girl's smile was beaming as she paced back and forth behind the concert stage, taking a look at the night sky above. She was doing a road show tonight rather than performing at her usual venue, the Ribbon Ring.
"One minute before we get started, Ribbon Girl." a young man said.
"Thanks, Mr. Producer!" Ribbon Girl said as she took a couple hops off the ground.
"Whoa, now. Try to relax, Ribbon Girl!" the man said.
"But I am relaxed! This is like a tropical paradise to me. Singing in front of hundreds of my screaming, loving fans." Ribbon Girl said. The man smiled knowing everything was okay with Ribbon Girl and then walked away, barking orders to other members of the stage crew.
Still, Ribbon Girl wanted to make sure she was 101 percent. She reached towards the nearby table where she saw the shot-sized solid green bottle labeled 'Helix Juice - 100% guaranteed to make you feel big and strong with everlasting energy' with a picture of the ARMS fighter, Helix, on the side.
"I probably don't need it… but I really could use all the energy I can muster on a night like tonight." Ribbon Girl said. She popped open the bottle and drank every last drop of the juice inside.
"Mmmm… kinda tasty. Hopefully I don't mutate into Helix or something." Ribbon Girl said.
"15 seconds, Ribbon Girl!" a man shouted from the distance. Ribbon Girl hastily put the bottle down and approached the staircase leading to the stage.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people screamed like crazy even as a young man took the microphone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready!?" the man said. The crowd cheered.
"I said ARE YOU READY!?" the man screamed, with the crowd doing their best to cheer louder than his amplified voice.
"Then here she is! Give it up… for… RIBBON GIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRL!!!!!!" the man said, with the crowd going absolutely crazy when they saw Ribbon Girl run up on stage. Ribbon Girl took the microphone from the man, who ran off stage.
"Yo Yo! What's happening, my adoring fans!? R-I-B! B-O-N! Coming at you!" Ribbon Girl shouted as the crowd started repeatedly chanting Ribbon.
"Alright! I'm glad you're so full of energy, because so am I! Maybe it's because I'm wearing Sparkies on both my hands tonight!" Ribbon Girl said as she showed off her default ARMS of black and yellow boxing gloves, again whipping the crowd into a frenzy.
"Now then, let's get this party started with an all-time classic. Hit it, music machine!" Ribbon Girl shouted. After a few seconds, the ARMS main theme suddenly started playing. The crowd cheering knowing what was coming as Ribbon Girl started ooohing and aaahing like she always does with the start of the song, and then came the lyrics…
"Punching Fighters, Fighting Wider. Stretching Fists, Full of Harrrrrrrrrm, This is ARRRRRRRRMS!" Ribbon Girl said as she danced left and right around the stage. As she was doing so, she didn't feel her body beginning to tingle and vibrate.
"Aiming Lightly, Hits so Mighty. Power Moves, full of Charrrrrrrrrrrm, This is ARRRRRRRRMS!" Ribbon Girl shouted as she then broke into her many Nah Nah Nahs for the next portion of the theme.

However, things began to change rapidly on and around the stage. The cheering from the crowd died down and slowly turned to murmurs as they noticed something happening with Ribbon Girl. She was slowly growing bigger. It was only a foot and a half, taking her to about 7 feet tall, but some superfans who knew Ribbon Girl from head to toe thought this couldn't be normal. Ribbon Girl still hadn't taken notice of her changing size yet, but did hear the crowd changing their tone. She took advantage of a break in the song to try and fire them back up.
"Come on, people! Don't conk out on me now! We're just getting started!" Ribbon Girl said as she got back to dancing and spinning around the stage. Now approaching over 8 feet tall, her steps were actually causing the stage to crack now. There was definitely a mixed reaction in the crowd now. Some were still cheering thinking this was some special effect put on by the show. Others, especially those within a few feet of the stage itself, just stared up as they watched the superstar continue to grow.
Finally, when Ribbon Girl's accelerated and she felt the microphone in her hand rapidly shrinking, eventually getting to where it was too small for her to hold in the palm of her hand… that's when she looked down and took notice.
"Huh? Hey, where are you going? Am I standing on an elevator or something?" Ribbon Girl said. She watched as the area around her continued to shrink rapidly. People started to either nervously back away or run for the nearest exits, especially as Ribbon Girl was now over 100 feet tall and showed no signs of slowing down.

Finally, though, Ribbon Girl's growth did stop. Like with Min Min, Ribbon Girl was exactly 30 times her normal size, taking her from 5 and a half feet tall all the way to 165 feet tall.
"Oh my! I'm a giantess!" Ribbon Girl said as she looked down at the stage that got smushed underneath her red sneaker heels. Obviously, several people were running for dear life away from the giantess, although others were staying behind and taking pictures of the black shorts she wore underneath her skirt… something that didn't go unnoticed to her.
"Hey! Come on, don't be perverted!" Ribbon Girl said as she pressed her gloved hands against her skirt. As she did so and looked down, she marveled over how much smaller everything was as well as how quiet the stage sounded from her new height. The music she was singing to sounded more like a whisper now.
"Wow… this is amazing. To think I'd actually be tall after last year pretending to be a giantess in that poster to promote one of my concerts…" Ribbon Girl said. She then set her sights on the rest of the city in the distance.
"Well, I might as well make the most of this situation! It'll be fun!" Ribbon Girl said as she took her first few giant steps forward, crushing a row of once tall trees.
"Yeah… provided I'm very VERY careful." Ribbon Girl said as she tiptoed her way through the trees.

People ran for dear life as they watched the giant Ribbon Girl step out from behind one of the few buildings still taller than the giantess.
"Don't be afraid everyone! I'm a friendly giantess!" Ribbon Girl said, only to clip a building as she walked by it, watching as bits and pieces of it rained down on the ground next to her boots.
"Ahem… klutzy, but friendly!" Ribbon Girl said. She stood still for a few seconds watching as people left and right were running away from her boots.
"Wow… everything's so teeny tiny. I can totally get why they're running from me." Ribbon Girl said. The giant superstar walked carefully down the road, although once again she came to a stop when she accidentally kicked a light post off the ground.
"Oops! Sorry!" Ribbon Girl said.
"Mommy! Look! It's Ribbon Girl and she's really big!" a young female voice shouted. Ribbon Girl tracked the voice down to the apartment complex to her left, where she saw a young girl sticking her head out the window.
"Haha! Hi there, little girl. You think I'm really big?" Ribbon Girl said.
"Sure do! Can I please have your autograph?" the girl asked.
"Well, I don't know. I think I'm too big for autographs…" Ribbon Girl said.
"Pleeeeeease, pretty pleeeeeeeease!?" the girl said.
"Okay, okay, okay… hmmmm. How about this?" Ribbon Girl said. She pulled out a marker from behind her outfit and suddenly wrote her name up and down the brick wall that made up the front of the apartment.
"There! At least you can see it every time you and your Mommy come home." Ribbon Girl said.
"Wow! Thanks, Ribbon Girl! You're so cool!" the girl said before she backed away from the window. Ribbon Girl peeked inside where she saw the girl run out of the room.
"Haha… what a sweet little girl. She wasn't scared of me at all." Ribbon Girl said.

The giantess then got back to walking around the city block. But again, she came to a stop when she noticed something fly around her face. She instinctively swatted at the object, which was actually a double-sized drone a couple times.
"Ick! I hate bugs that get in my face!" Ribbon Girl said.
"Whoa! Hold up, Ribbon Girl! It's me!" the male voice said from the flying drone. Ribbon Girl focused in on the flying object and recognized who was flying it.
"Oh! Biff!" Ribbon Girl said.
"Haha! Yep, it's me. Whew… that was close. I was almost knocked out outside of an ARMS League match for the first time in my commentating career!" Biff said. Ribbon Girl didn't seem surprised to see Biff… even he was a superfan of both her fighting and singing.
"So what brings you up here, Biff?" Ribbon Girl asked.
"Oh, I'm livestreaming your big rampage around the city." Biff said.
"What? No, don't call it rampage! I don't want Byte and Barq and the police robots to arrest me." Ribbon Girl said.
"Good point, and they won't as long as you don't destroy or step on anyone or anything. Still, would you like to say anything to both our fans? I'm up to 10 million views already!" Biff said with a smile.
"10 million!?" Ribbon Girl shouted in shock.
"Yep! It's amazing how fast the news spreads, isn't it?" Biff said.
"Er… nope. Anyway, hello to all my fans watching around the world! What do you think? I always knew I'd hit the big time one day, but this really takes the cake, doesn't it?" Ribbon Girl said.
"Maybe you should put on a concert while you're this size!" Biff suggested.
"Hey! That's a great idea! I'm Ribbon Girl, the GiantAiress of the entire city! Thanks, Biff. You're the best!" Ribbon Girl said as she gently moved her lips forward and kissed Biff and his entire flying drone, which briefly shot sparks and smoke and flew out of control as Biff had hearts shooting out of his eyes. He didn't notice the giant Ribbon Girl walking by and heading for another part of the city.
"I'm never going to shower again…" Biff said in a trance.

Ribbon Girl eventually found her way to the park, where her boots covered a significant area once she set foot on the grounds. She looked up at the sky and recognized a couple helicopters from the local news stations catching up to her.
"Perfect! Over here, guys!" Ribbon Girl said as she waved one of her gloved hands up at them. Ribbon Girl then looked around the grassy grounds, where she saw a few people walking towards her boots.
"Hmmm… too bad there are no stage lights I can quickly round up, but oh well, this will have to do." Ribbon Girl said. She then cleared her throat and looked up at the copters, who did shine a couple lights of their own.
"Ahem… greetings, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the biggest concert you'll probably ever see. Forgive me if I sound a bit rusty… this is as impromptu as it gets! And for those of you here live and in person… ummmm… make sure you keep your distance. You all should know by now I move a LOT when I'm singing!" Ribbon Girl as she looked first up at the helicopters and then at the crowd gathering in front of her boots. Ribbon Girl soon got a beat going inside her head (she had to given the lack of a band her size!) and then threw out some lyrics that you might recognize from a fighting game from years past:

Look inside my heart, This is where it starts
Is it meant to be? Oh, I want to believe
Hold me closer now; Will you take a vow
And don't ever let me go?

After Ribbon Girl sung that first verse, she got to dancing around. To her amazement, the crowd seemed to get the same vibe she had and clapped and danced to the 'beat' themselves, looking up in awe at the same time that someone so big could sing and dance with such passion.
Meanwhile, in the back of the crowd, Spring Man was bobbing and weaving his way through the dancing and clapping people. He paused briefly and looked way up the giantess.
"Wow… this is beyond awesome. A giant Ribbon Girl is a million times better than a giant Min Min." Spring Man said. He eventually made it to the front of the crowd, and naturally being the park, there was nothing in front to stop him. No muscular black-shirted security guards. No ropes or tape to slice through. It was open space between himself and Ribbon Girl's gigantic boots.
"I've gotta get her attention… and her autograph… again!" Spring Man said as he ran forward and timed his jump, landing on top of her right boot. He immediately got to work climbing the giantess's legs, even as she belted out the next verse of the song in her head:

Lights on a city that cast many shadows that hide its true face
Alone in a crowd, I am lost, but I'm found when you call out my name
Don't say goodbye, just say you'll stay with me, even if just for one day
When you touch me, I know, body and soul, you're all I've loved most but love I have found

Look inside my heart, This is where it starts
Is it meant to be? Oh, I want to believe
Hold me closer now; Will you take a vow
And don't ever let me go?

Just then, however, something in her mind told her to look down her outfit. That's when she spotted the normal-sized Spring Man up on the skirt of her outfit.
"Gah! Spring Man!?" Ribbon Girl shouted.
"Oh… um… hi… Ribbon Girl! Wow… you look great! Did you take some super mushrooms or something like that?" Spring Man asked. Ribbon Girl then pulled her hand back like she was going to slap Spring Man.
"Yipe!" Spring Man shouted as he let go of the giantess's dress, allowing him to fall back to the ground next to her boots. He looked up at Ribbon Girl, who suddenly had a smile on her face.
"Hahaha! Hahahaha!" Ribbon Girl laughed.
"What's so funny? Aren't you mad at me?" Spring Man asked.
"Oh, Spring Man. I'm just unsurprised you would try and get that close to me. You are one of my biggest fans AND closest rivals in the ARMS Grand Prix!" Ribbon Girl said as she winked down to the young man.
"Uh… thanks?" Spring Man said.
"You know, I've always wanted to beat someone with my feet. Now that I'm the right size, why don't I try it on you, Spring Man?" Ribbon Girl said. Spring Man then watched as Ribbon Girl slowly raised one of her legs up in the air.
"Huh!? B-b-b-b-but Ribbon Girl!" Spring Man shouted.
"Better get running, Springy!" Ribbon Girl said as she slowly brought that same leg down. Spring Man knew he had to get running, and he managed to get away just as Ribbon Girl slammed her foot on the ground. At the same time, the people who had gathered for her 'big' concert in the park all started running like mad in the opposite direction, thinking Ribbon Girl-zilla was out in full force.
The giantess watched as Spring Man ran deeper into the city away from the park, and she smiled.
"Teehee… I guess I'm the cat and Spring Man is the tasty mouse!" Ribbon Girl said as she slowly walked after Spring Man, making sure not to crush anyone innocent underneath her boots.

Spring Man rapidly looked forward and backward during his sprint, watching where he was going and also looking back to see how far away the giant Ribbon Girl was.
"(huff puff huff puff) First Min Min and now Ribbon Girl. What is up with these girls growing and then chasing me!?" Spring Man shouted. Ribbon Girl, meanwhile, kept a beaming smile on her face.
"Hahaha! This is fun, Spring Man! Keep it up… I'm starting to looooooove being gigantic and chasing you at the same time!" Ribbon Girl said. What told Spring Man she was serious about catching him was when Ribbon Girl suddenly firmly stepped on a parked car that was in her path.
"Heh… we must be near the movie studio lot now. They really need to get the parking situation fixed!" Ribbon Girl commented.
The chase continued for a couple more minutes… at least until Ribbon Girl stepped in front of a taller skyscraper made almost entirely of glass windows. Ribbon Girl not only looked at her reflection, but also at the tiny people gathering to take a look at the giantess.
"Hi, my adoring fans! Ribbonista! Love you guys!" Ribbon Girl said as she twirled around and flexed her ARMS.

Spring Man felt this was his best chance to slip away as he turned around the corner. However…
"Yipe!" Spring Man shouted as he saw one of Ribbon Girl's Sparkies coming towards him. He couldn't possibly dodge it in time and he was grabbed by it, getting electrocuted at the same time.
"Boogaboogaboogabooga!!!" Spring Man shouted as volts surged through his body, throwing his senses for a loop especially as he felt the world move rapidly while one of Ribbon Girl's arms recoiled back to its normal length. The next thing Spring Man knew, he was looking up at Ribbon Girl's gigantic face.
"Gotcha! You didn't think I'd forget about you, did I, little Springy?" Ribbon Girl said.
"Well… the thought did briefly cross my mind." Spring Man said, watching as the giantess smiled.
"You put up a good fight, Springy. I think I'll finally give you the big kiss you always dreamed of." Ribbon Girl said.
"You… you mean?" Spring Man said as he watched Ribbon Girl pucker her lips and move them closer to him, who looked like he was ready to blow a kiss as well.

But this time a stroke of bad luck would hit Spring Man. Just like with Min Min earlier that day, Ribbon Girl suddenly found herself shrinking back to her normal size. She could tell as she watched Spring Man get a little bigger in her hand with each passing second.
"Oh! I'm shrinking!" Ribbon Girl said. Once she was down to about 75 feet tall, she let Spring Man go who used his ARMS to land safely on the ground. Ribbon Girl was soon back to her normal size.
"Oh well… maybe a normal-sized kiss would be better suited?" Spring Man said… only to suddenly feel a punch in the face as Ribbon Girl delivered a solid blow.
"Too late, buster." Ribbon Girl said as she winked one of her eyes.
"Sigh… I tried. Still, that's twice today." Spring Man said.
"Huh? Twice?" Ribbon Girl asked.
"Yeah. Min Min grew as well. I was seconds away from being part of her dinner, in fact, until she too shrunk back to normal." Spring Man said.
"I see… that can't be a coincidence." Ribbon Girl said.
"Especially if… wait, don't tell me. You grew with a bottle of Helix Juice?" Spring Man asked.
"What!? How did you know? You weren't spying on me backstage, were you!?" Ribbon Girl shouted.
"No, no, of course not! That's how Min Min grew also… honest!" Spring Man said.
"Hmmm… well, like I said, that can't be a coincidence." Ribbon Girl said.
"I agree. What do you think we should do about it?" Spring Man said.
"Pffft… I just sing and dance on stage. I say we leave the superhero stuff to the experts!" Ribbon Girl said.
"Yeah. You're right." Spring Man said. Ribbon Girl smiled.
"Look… sorry about punching you. Go for a soda after I finish my concert, which I grew after the first song?" Ribbon Girl asked.
"Deal!" Spring Man said as the two shook hands and walked into the distance.

Back at [NAME REDACTED], Dr. Coyle had watched the whole giant Ribbon Girl story play out on her many monitors.
"Bleh! Figures. Never trust a 17-year-old singing and dancing sensation to destroy a city after she grows to 30 times her normal size. And the time increase on how long the growth lasted was minimal! Once again a careful increase in the disposal of the seed's extract into the Helix Juice is needed." Dr. Coyle said. After typing away at her keyboard, she once again changed the pictures rapidly on her monitor.
"There's gotta be someone I can trick into growing gigantic AND destroying the city!" Dr. Coyle said while typing away.

A few seconds later, video popped up on the main monitor of a movie trailer. A familiar woman could be seen swinging out from a massive explosion.
"Ahhhh… of course. The actress known as Twintelle. Oooooh… I'm getting goosebumps just imagining her stomping around the city. Victory at last will be mine! HAHAHAHA!!! Well, tomorrow when the sun is shining once again." Dr. Coyle said as she spun her chair around and got up, walking away from her computer system towards another section of the lab.
