Beyond the Smashing Army

(Cubed Cinder)

Princess Apple smiled and later sighed as she looked over the golden armor that she received from her new friend, Celica, recently. Even behind a glass case like a prized trophy, the armor was already triggering memories of her visit to Valentia, both the good ones and the not so pleasant one near the end of her journey. As she started to think about that bad memory, she heard a familiar male voice to the side, which of course belonged to her husband, Prince Hugo.
"Good morning, my sweet and never sour Apple." Hugo said.
"Haha! Good morning, Hugo." Apple said. Hugo joined alongside his wife and looked at the golden armor.
"Heh… you really should take a picture of that armor. It will last longer." Hugo said.
"I know, I know. But nothing beats looking at it in person." Apple said.
"Yeah, I can't blame you. It's the first thing ever made of gold to grace these palace halls." Hugo said.
"That fact amazes me as much as you've done not only for Giant Land, but the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom as well!" Apple said. She then frowned a bit as she looked at the armor again, something that didn't fly past Prince Hugo.

"What's wrong?" Hugo asked.
"I had a lot of good times wearing that armor after Celica gifted it to me… but I still can't help but think of how I almost brought harm to her and her kingdom when that creature possessed me." Apple said. Hugo quickly rubbed Apple on her shoulders.
"There, there. Everything worked out in the end, didn't it? She bravely saved you in the nick of time." Hugo said.
"Still, to think something far more sinister is out there…" Apple said.
"It was another dimension. There's probably all sorts of evil that makes Bowser look like child's play." Hugo said.
"Haha… true. Thanks for always cheering me up, Hugo." Apple said.
"Always happy to help." Hugo said as he and Apple were leaning towards each other like they were going to kiss.

However, they would be interrupted by another familiar voice.
"Your majesties! Your majesties!" the rough, grisly male voice said. The giant couple looked to see it was Madzilla rushing towards them.
"Madzilla! What's wrong?" Apple asked.
"Forgive my intruding, but I was walking around outside watering the plants in front of the castle when I saw these black portals open up!" Madzilla said. Apple and Hugo quickly looked at each other.
"Oh no… again!?" Apple said.
"Let's find out! Guards, with us!" Hugo said as he shouted down another hallway. A group of three mushroom retainers holding spears (all as tall as Hugo, Apple, and Madzilla of course) ran behind the other giants as they approached the front doors of the castle.

When they opened up, it was a sight all too familiar to Apple. Portals were opening in the sky and shadowy monsters were falling out, some taller than others.
"What!? It's those creatures again!?" Madzilla said.
"Honey, I thought you and your supersized friends dealt with all those monsters?" Hugo said.
"I thought so too… but clearly they are not done yet." Apple said.
"What will we do, Princess Apple!?" Madzilla asked. Apple put on a determined face.
"We fight. Simple as that. We'll defend Giant Land no matter what!" Apple said as she clenched her fists. Hugo, to everyone's surprise, stepped alongside his wife.
"If my wife is going to battle, so shall I!" Hugo said.
"Very well, sire. We will protect you no matter what!" the guards said.
"Let's go!" Apple shouted as she and the others charged forward.
"Oh boy! I always wanted to do this!" Madzilla said.

Fortunately for our heroes, even though there seemed to be hundreds of shadowy monsters, they were all easily defeated by a step or two from the giants and giantesses. It felt good for Princess Apple to be flattening tons of monsters underneath her golden sandals. All the others were doing their part, though the guards mainly used their spears in hand. But despite crushing dozens of monsters already, they were still coming, a fact not lost on the princess.
"They just keep coming!" Apple said.
"We can't keep fighting like this forever. Eventually they will overrun us!" Hugo said.
"I know…" Apple said. Madzilla then looked up.
"Look! Something's coming from the sky!" Madzilla said as he pointed up.
"Is that… a giant star?" Hugo said as everyone soon saw the same thing.
"Make way!" Apple shouted as the group watched as the star, twice their size, crashed down on the ground. The monsters shook violently and then fizzled out… along with the portals they were coming from. Already half of the monster army was gone, and the other half was taken care of easily by another giant star falling from the sky.
"Goodness gracious! What was that!?" Hugo said.
"Talk about a sign from the heavens! Or Sky Land at the very least!" Madzilla said. Apple smiled as she kept looking up and saw something else coming down from the sky.
"I know who sent those stars." Apple said.

With a smile, Princess Apple held out her hands and allowed Rosalina (and a few of her Luma) to float safely downward.
"Hello, Princess Apple. It appears I made it just in time." Rosalina said.
"You certainly did. Thanks for the save!" Apple said.
"But we must hurry. There are more of those creatures out there." Rosalina said.
"More!?" all the giants remarked.
"Please. Allow me to explain further. I think I know where all these monsters are coming from now." Rosalina said.
"Okay, Rosalina. Hold on, I'll take you inside." Apple said as she carried Rosalina all the way back inside.
"You go on ahead, my princess. Madzilla, the guards, and I will roam the rest of Giant Land and make sure no damage was done. Come, Madzilla!" Hugo said.
"Aye aye, captain!" Madzilla said as he whacked himself above his eyes while doing a salute.

In the throne room of Giant Land Castle, Rosalina was standing on a pedestal that Princess Apple would always set normal-sized visitors on so they wouldn't have to look all the way up at any of the giants. In this case, it was just Apple, with Hugo and Madzilla out and about checking the rest of Giant Land.
"So tell me what you know, Rosalina. Who is responsible for these monsters showing up again?" Apple said. Rosalina had a very worried look on her face.
"That's the thing, Princess Apple. I thought it'd be any number of villains we know across the universe." Rosalina said.
"Including Velezark? Lucina was certain the monsters came from that despicable dragon's evil aura." Apple asked.
"But it was none of them. I couldn't even detect traces of the Master Core within those monsters." Rosalina said, which prompted a gasp from the giantess. She got up from her throne and walked around, with Rosalina watching the 60-foot-tall woman walking around.
"I would've thought for sure it was the Master Core too if it wasn't any villain we're thinking of. So what could it be?" Apple asked.
"I… I don't know. All I know is the aura I'm sensing from the being these monsters are generated by is… incredibly evil. It's like it's the embodiment of all things dark." Rosalina said.
"Yes… I can see why it's you consider it gravely concerning." Apple said.
"I feel like these monsters are coming after us… I mean, those of us who were invited in the Smash Tournament." Rosalina said.

Apple then walked towards the pedestal and kneeled down with her face just a yard or two away from Rosalina.
"Listen, Rosalina. We can't worry about that now. It's important that we scour the universe for more of these monsters. Maybe we'll get lucky and find the true source of them once and for all." Apple said.
"I couldn't agree more, Princess Apple. That's why I've brought back a most valuable tool to help." Rosalina said. The young woman got to work waving her wand around and the Luma did a little ditty themselves. Eventually, a star that resembled the Launch Star magically appeared, but Apple recognized it right away.
"Ah yes, the Dimensional Star." Apple said.
"I can fine tune it to display the other dimensions these monsters may be trying to break through." Rosalina said as she did some more waving around with her star wand. Eventually the Dimensional Star spun around and showed pictures of other worlds. First on display was a place that proudly advertised itself as Inkopolis.
"Hmmm… Inkopolis? Looks kinda… hip. And calm." Apple said.
"For now, but the Dimensional Star does not lie. It feels there will be an attack from the shadow monster army soon." Rosalina said.
"So should we bring whoever was invited to the Super Smash Tournament to represent this world here?" Apple said.
"I'm not so sure that would be a wise idea. To take the heroes away from these worlds would do more harm than good. It would be best if they stayed behind to neutralize the threat before it can spread beyond their home world." Rosalina said.
"Can I at least communicate with these characters? Warn them somehow of the approaching danger?" Apple said.
"Of course you may, Princess Apple. Just think of the message you want to say and then I'll use my powers to help deliver it." Rosalina said.

Then she thought back to that day. That special day when she invited over a dozen women from other worlds, such as Bayonetta, Corrin, Lyn, and Princess Zelda. It was a day she would never forget as long as she lived, and she remembered why it was so memorable. It was because of the mere fact that she was giving these ladies a chance to see life from the same perspective as her, at least as long as her magic lasted, and use the enhanced power to subdue the monster threat.
"Wait, I have an idea." Apple said as she pressed down on the locket she always wore around her wrist, revealing the magic crystal behind the photo of her family the last time they were all together (and when she was normal-sized). She allowed the crystal to shine near the Dimensional Star.
"I… I want my message to carry the power to grow to my size for a short while. That way if the numbers prove too great, they can have a fighting chance. Can I do that, Rosalina?" Apple said.
"Of course, Princess Apple. Once I've encoded your message into my star wand and I transmit it through the Dimensional Star, you can shine your crystal and its power will be transferred along with that message." Rosalina said.
"Okay, good. Now for my message…" Apple said as she took a deep breath.

She then exhaled and spoke as if she was speaking to another person.
"Super Smash Tournament competitor and friend from another dimension, my name is Princess Apple. You cannot see me, although I do wish we can one day meet under normal circumstances, but I grant to you this power I've had in my possession for many years. Use this power for good… to see life from a new perspective, but most importantly, to gain the edge you need to defeat the evil monsters that have descended or will descend upon your home world." Apple said. She heard her words echo within the magic that Rosalina was conjuring. That was Apple's cue to activate the crystal and allow its light to shine outward. Rosalina threw the combined energy into the portal that showed the image of Inkopolis. Once she felt enough was transmitted, she looked up at Apple.
"Princess Apple, please swipe your finger to the right. That will allow the portal to target the next dimension the monsters will be invading!" Rosalina said. With a quick nod from Princess Apple, the giantess did just that. Suddenly the portal changed the visible location, and she and Rosalina found themselves looking at Icicle Mountain next. They repeated the process of sending the message combined with Apple's growth magic into the portal, and then Apple swiped to the next location. Next, they were looking at Smashville. Apple made a comment about all the animals she was seeing coming in and out of the houses.
"Hmmm… there sure are a lot of animals. I wonder if this is that Animal Crossing world that Isabelle and her mayor were talking about." Apple said.
"Perhaps so, but let's not dwell any longer. It's taking a lot of my energy to keep this portal open and send the energy through." Rosalina said.

The next location actually made Apple and Rosalina raise their eyebrows, as they recognized the location to be a close one. Very close…
"Huh? They're targeting Sarasaland!?" Apple shouted.
"Oh my… that's where Princess Daisy resides." Rosalina said.
"Well, Princess Peach keeps telling me how tough a fighter she is, so I don't doubt her strength when she becomes 60 feet tall." Apple said. Rosalina couldn't help but smile, but then when Apple made another swipe at the portal… it was blank.
"Huh? Nothing?" Apple asked.
"It would appear that's all the dimensions they're targeting. For now, anyway." Rosalina said.
"So what now?" Apple said. Rosalina sighed.
"There's nothing more we can do except watch and see if we did enough for our friends." Rosalina said. Apple sighed right back, much to Rosalina's surprise.
"It will have to be, or those monsters could bring the entire universe to total darkness…" Apple said as she put her hands together like she was praying for multiple successful battles for the heroines in question. Rosalina swung her wand around and allowed Sarasaland to display on the portal.

Sarasaland

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Chai Kingdom of Sarasaland, Princess Daisy watched in awe over the martial arts demonstration that took place before her eyes. People were flying, punching, and kicking at seemingly lightning fast speeds. By the time the demonstration was over, she stood up and applauded just like everyone else in the audience. As everyone exited the stage, Daisy walked over to the teacher and bowed gracefully.
"So, Princess Daisy, what you think of demonstration?" the teacher said.
"Whew! I gotta say, teacher. You really know how to send them flying!" Daisy said.
"Thank you. I say it is great honor to have you grace our kingdom once more." the teacher said.
"Heh… yeah, sorry I haven't been visiting as much. Just been sooooooooo busy with so many other things in life." Daisy said.
"Ah, like Super Smash Tournament?" the teacher said.
"Heh… word sure travels fast, doesn't it!?" Daisy said.
"Perhaps you have learned skills to help you in next tournament." the teacher said as Daisy looked back at the students who were conversing with each other.
"Yeah… maybe I have." Daisy said with a smile.

However, the good mood would be broken up as everyone looked up at the sky and saw dark portals opening up.
"Huh? What is that?" the teacher asked.
"Look!" Daisy said as she pointed up and saw the shadowy creatures coming out. They came out in droves, already crowding the temple that the martial arts display had been held in, and innocent people went running away just as the shadowy creatures came flying out.
"What are those things!?" the teacher asked.
"They're not Primids, that's for sure!" Daisy said. She watched as the students went charging towards the shadowy creatures. Daisy watched them put up a good fight, but they would eventually fall in defeat, with the rest retreating towards their teacher and Daisy. Daisy planted one of her heeled shoes forward.
"Don't worry, everyone! I'm here to help!" Daisy shouted as she summoned one of her umbrellas. The princess bravely ran forward and whacked every monster she could lay eyes on. But the sheer numbers were too much for Daisy, and she would be grabbed by many a monster.
"Let go of me!!!" Daisy shouted, only to get thrown aside and back to the martial arts teacher.
"Princess Daisy, are you right!?" the teacher shouted.
"I'm fine. You're looking at someone who could survive being checked into an electric fence." Daisy said as she thought about her days when she (and many other friends of hers) was a Striker.
"I beg pardon?" the teacher asked.
"Just get yourself and your students to safety. I don't want to see any of you get hurt!" Daisy said.
"Are you sure…?" the teacher asked.
"Go now! That's an order!" Daisy shouted. The teacher knew there was no arguing with the princess of all Sarasaland, and so that's when he and his students ran away.

Daisy gulped nervously as she watched the monsters close in on her. It didn't make her feel any better when a few standing anywhere from 20-30 feet tall were joining the fray.
"Where is Super Mega Papercraft Luigi when you really need him?" Daisy said. But then… time seemed to come to a stop, just as a white portal opened above Daisy's head.
"What?" Daisy asked. She watched as a glowing ball of energy descended into Daisy's open gloved hands. She suddenly heard a familiar voice echo from within the ball.
"Super Smash Tournament competitor and friend from another dimension, my name is Princess Apple. You cannot see me, although I do wish we can one day meet under normal circumstances, but I grant to you this power I've had in my possession for many years. Use this power for good… to see life from a new perspective, but most importantly, to gain the edge you need to defeat the evil monsters that have descended or will descend upon your home world." the voice of Princess Apple said.
"Huh? Apple? How did she know I finally made it into the… hey!" Daisy said, only to watch the energy shoot into her body. Mere seconds later before she could wonder what hit her, she watched the surrounding area shrink smaller and smaller.
"Whoa! I'm growing again!" Daisy shouted. She soon found herself 60 feet tall, just like her Giant Land friend, Princess Apple. At the same time as the growing stopped, time seemed to get back going again. The monsters looked up in shock at the now gigantic princess, who promptly put her hands on her hips and smiled.
"Well now, how are you going to capture me now!? And by the way… I'm in a foul mood for what you did to the people of Chai Kingdom!" Daisy said as she lifted one of her orange high heels up and slammed it down, sending a bunch of monsters flying up in the air. Daisy instinctively whacked these monsters away with her magically summoned golf club.
"FORE! Hahaha!" Daisy said. She then watched as the few 30-foot-tall monsters in the immediate area all huddled around the giant Daisy and tried to tackle her down.
"Pfffft… fat chance." Daisy said as she twirled around and shook these monsters off. That's when Daisy walked over to a nearby spire and ripped it right out of the ground. Daisy walked over to one of the monsters.
"Pardon me if I get to the point!" Daisy shouted as she stabbed the monster in the chest. It writhed around in pain before disappearing from sight. Daisy did this same attack to the other four monsters, all of whom vanished on contact. Daisy dropped the spire and wiped the sweat off her forehead.
"Whew… I hope the temple won't get mad at me for doing that." Daisy said.
She then watched as the other normal-sized monsters went scurrying out of the temple gates.
"You're not getting away from me that easily!" Daisy said as she stomped after these monsters, raising her legs and dress high above the temple walls.

She soon towered over one of the villages of the Chai Kingdom. Obviously, being such an old kingdom, none of the houses rose above the giantess's knees. But that was of little concern to Daisy. All she wanted to do was crush the living daylights out of these monsters. Or, well… scoop them up in her frying pan.
"You're all about to be sautéed!" Daisy said as she pulled out a frying pan and scooped up dozens of monsters into the pan. She tossed them up and down like onions, and then finally whacked them into the distance with her tennis racquet. She couldn't celebrate for long, however. Some monsters were brave enough to try and fight back as a swath of them were busy climbing up Daisy's royal dress. By the time they got up to her behind was when she finally felt their movements.
"Bad idea, shorties." Daisy said. That's when she did a short leap up and leaned with her behind.
"Ah… CHA!!!" Daisy shouted as she slammed her behind on the ground, crushing every monster either there or around her legs. Daisy looked down to confirm the monsters were smashed to shadowy ashes, where she also saw a family of three with their jaws dropped.
"Heh heh… always eat your vegetables and you can be as big and strong as me!" Daisy said as she got back up and ran to another part of the village with these people watching the giantess's every move.

There were still a lot more monsters to deal with, and Daisy wondered how long the battle would go on. Luckily, as she would find out quickly, not much longer. She felt a surge of energy go through her, and completely unbeknownst to her, her eyes were glowing yellow as well, like she had broken open a Smash Ball. She knew exactly what to do next.
"Daisy Blossom!" Daisy screamed as she danced around. Suddenly the monsters shook violently like they were going to explode… but instead, they were transformed into literal daisy flowers. And given the vast number of monsters that had been attacking, the field both in and out of the village she towered over was littered with oversized daisies.
"Wow… that went better than expected." Daisy said. The giantess then watched as numerous people came out of their homes and applauded the giantess.
"Princess Daisy! *clap clap clap* Princess Daisy! *clap clap clap*" the crowd said as they cheered Daisy's name and clapped their hands three times. Obviously this made Daisy feel good.
"Awww… thanks! Anything for not only this kingdom, but all of Sarasaland!" Daisy said.

Before she could do some kind of victory dance that would be worthy of the Chai Kingdom, however, she watched as yet another portal opened up. This one a bright white.
"Huh? Now what? Whooooooooa!!!" Daisy said as she lost her footing and felt herself being pulled into the portal, which disappeared as soon as she went through. The people went from celebrating to wondering what the heck happened to their giant savior and ruler.

Icicle Mountain

We now turn our attention to a place known simply as Icicle Mountain. Already monsters were swarming, and not just the usual assortment of Topis and Polar Bears. The same shadowy monsters had invaded Icicle Mountain, and the Ice Climbers, known sometimes as Popo (wearing blue) and Nana (wearing pink), were whacking away with their hammers trying to fend off the monsters.
"Popo! Don't let them hurt me!" Nana shouted.
"Don't worry, Nana! Nothing will get past me!" Popo shouted as he swung his hammer repeatedly. Nana didn't stay idle, though. She would attack as well using moves like frosty breath or summoning icicles and whacking them at the monsters. For every few they would vanquish, however, another 10-15 would come charging forward. It was taking a toll on the Ice Climbers.
"Huff puff… I don't know how much more I can take! We were meant to climb ice mountains, not fight dark and scary monsters!" Nana said.
"Just hang in there, Nana! It could be worse… we could still be stuck in Subspace!" Popo commented.
The two were being pushed onto the edge of an icy cliff, until finally the edge snapped and both Ice Climbers lost their balance.
"Waaaaaah!" Nana screamed as she was the first to fall.
"NANAAAAAA!" Popo screamed as he too lost his balance. The monsters watched as the Ice Climbers fell and fell, seemingly to their graves at either the base of the gigantic mountain or the frigid river.

But fortunately the Ice Climbers would be rescued as a giant hand reached out and caught them in midair.
"Whoa! We're alive!" Popo shouted.
"Yeah… but what did we land on?" Nana asked.
"Whew… looks like I arrived just in time." a female voice echoed from overhead. Both Ice Climbers were startled over how loud the female voice was, and they gasped when they looked up and saw who the voice belonged to. They were sitting on the palm of a hand belonging to a 60-foot-tall Princess Zelda.
"Don't be afraid. I am your ally." Zelda said.
"Who… who are you?" Popo asked.
"I am Princess Zelda, and I have come from Hyrule because someone faraway named Princess Apple warned you might be in danger." Zelda said.
"Oh! Princess Zelda! I remember her from one of the Super Smash Tournaments we were in!" Nana said.
"Oh yeah, Nana! You're right! But she looks a little different." Popo said.
"Perhaps that was my predecessor you met. Or maybe future self. Sometimes even I get confused by the history of myself." Zelda said.
"I see." Popo said.

The giantess then looked up and saw the same swarm of monsters that made the Ice Climbers fall come jumping down, landing yards away from her giant sandals.
"I wish we could chit chat some more, but we must destroy these monsters immediately!" Zelda said.
"How? There are too many of them!" Nana said.
"Once I've transferred the same magic that made me grow into one of you, as instructed by Rosalina and Princess Apple, the odds will tilt very much in our favor." Zelda said. She then gently set the Ice Climbers down on the ground.
"Okay, but which one will it be?" Popo asked. Zelda did not answer. She instead chanted a few words and allowed a white ball of energy to form in her hands that she threw down at Nana. Within seconds, Nana watched as the world around her got smaller and smaller until she was nearly the same size as Princess Zelda.
"Whoa…" Nana said as she looked down in awe over icecaps that once towered over her on the icy surface. Zelda then rested a hand on one of Nana's shoulders.
"Stow your fear, Nana. It's now or never!!" Zelda shouted as she marched towards the shadow monsters and got to work stomping them left and right with her sandals. Nana looked down at the now tiny Popo.
"Heh, of course. It had to be you. Girl power, right?" Popo said.
"Awww… don't feel bad, Popo. At least you'll be safe where I put you." Nana said as she reached down and scooped up Popo (and a lot of snow) into her brown gloved hand. After lifting up her hood and gently placing him inside her brown hair, Nana rushed forward and joined Zelda in the battle.

With no shadow monsters bigger than a normal-sized person, it was easy for the two to rampage through the group and stomp them into the ground or kick them into the water where they froze instantly. They did eventually branch out and use other moves, though. Nana, for instance, would take deep breaths and exhale, encasing any monsters within her breath into ice cubes.
"Whoa… talk about a cold spell!" Nana said, giggling as she admired her work and then stomped the cubes into numerous pieces under her white spiked boots. She would also flatten these monsters underneath her hammer, which made her feel powerful as well. Another way she felt a surge of power was when she whacked part of the towering mountain, sending shards of ice raining down on the ground, impaling them and sending squirts of shadow 'blood' in the air until they vanished.
"Wow, Nana! Remind me not to get on your bad side!" Popo said as stuck his head out from underneath Nana's hood and watched the action as best as he could.
"Teehee… thanks, Popo! Although it doesn't look like Zelda should be messed with either." Nana said as she and the tiny Popo admired the fighting that Zelda was putting on.

Zelda was unrelentless in her rampage. It was almost as if she was watching some of Ganon's army try and march up to her castle and she made sure to stomp them flat. Even when the monsters tried to fight back by shooting shadow energy balls up at her, she was having none of it as she activated Nayru's Love to deflect these attacks. And of course, Zelda countered right back as she threw a ball of red light towards the group of monsters.
"YAH!" Zelda shouted. That's when the ball burst apart and spread flames in every direction. The monsters screamed out as they burned to ashes on the ground. Zelda watched as a few lucky monsters jumped on her dress to try and climb it, but she easily shook most of them off. The others she would pluck with her bare hands and then blow them into the distance using Farore's Wind. Other times she would shoot magical energy from her hands to obliterate them.
After summoning a magical light arrow to take care of a long line of charging monsters, she suddenly felt a surge of energy coarse through her body.
"Oh! Zelda… your eyes are glowing yellow! And your body!" Nana commented. Zelda looked around and saw the rainbow glow around her skin and clothing.
"Yes… this power. I can unleash my Final Smash!" Zelda said as she brought her hands together, but then remembered Nana was standing near her.
"Ummmm… Nana, you may want to step back so you're not caught in what's about to happen." Zelda said.
"Okay!" Nana said as she backed away, stepping on a few more monsters and crushing them along the way.

As for Zelda, she spread her hands apart and allowed a Triforce to suddenly appear. As the ground violently shook from the energy surge, all the monsters got swept up by Zelda's Triforce and appeared to be vanishing from sight.
"I banish you to the void between Hyrule and Lorule… from whence you will NEVER RETURN!!!" Zelda screamed with much fury as the monsters got swept away and the Triforce vanished, trapping them in the void that Zelda mentioned. Just like that, the monsters were eradicated, leaving just the giantesses Zelda and Nana, and of course Popo.
"Wow! That was impressive, Zelda!" Nana said.
"Thank you. I must admit it's a potent spell." Zelda said.
"You were amazing too, Nana!" Popo commented. Nana reached up and gently grabbed Popo, holding him up against her face.
"Awwww… thanks, Popo!" Nana said as she snuggled him up against her face.

However, the group had to stop their celebration when suddenly they watched a white portal as big as the giantesses open up.
"Huh? What's that?" Nana said.
"Oh no! Are there more monsters coming?" Popo said.
"I don't think so… I'm getting a strong sense of light energy eminating from the other side." Zelda said as she and Nana (with Popo still in her hands) suddenly felt themselves being pulled in.
"Yikes! It's pulling us in!" Nana said.
"It seems we have no choice but to investigate." Zelda said as the two no longer thought against the portal's pull and found themselves being pulled in.

Smashville

In the animal-ridden village that was nicknamed Smashville in honor of that town's mayor's participation in the Super Smash Tournament, the female mayor herself (the same one from Apple's Smashing Army) and Isabelle were walking around until the mayor stopped and pointed at the empty lot.
"Oh? Is that where we're going to build the new science lab?" Isabelle asked. Villager nodded profoundly.
"Hmmm… yes! I agree that's a great spot, Mayor! Okay! I'll have the construction crew get started as soon as I call them from your office!" Isabelle said. She and Villager left the lot and made their way back to Town Hall.
"I gotta say, Mayor, while helping that other person setting up camp was fun, I really missed doing village work!" Isabelle said.

Suddenly, the duo heard many animal residents all gasping and yelling as they looked up at the sky. They all saw portals opening up left and right.
"What in the world?" Isabelle asked. She gasped as well when she saw what was coming out… the same shadowy monsters that Villager had grown big to crush not too long ago in Aytolis.
"No way! I thought we defeated all those monsters! Let's get out of here, mayor!" Isabelle said. As she and Villager ran through the crowd of monsters, all of whom dove unsuccessfully to attack the duo, our heroes urged everyone else to take shelter.
"Everyone! Get back inside your homes and lock the doors! This is an emergency!" Isabelle shouted as the animals did just that.
Unfortunately for Villager and Isabelle, in their rush to get back to Town Hall, Isabelle tripped over a rock (sending her clipboard full of notes on where the science lab would be built flying) and landed face first in the grass, with Villager tripping over Isabelle and tumbling herself. The two looked to see the monsters closing in.
"Oh dear… this is bad. What will we do, Mayor?" Isabelle said.

Suddenly, the two looked as time came to a standstill and a white portal opened up. That's when a glowing ball of energy descended into Isabelle's hands.
"Wait… Princess Apple? Wasn't she that giant lady we met in… whoa!" Isabelle said, only to watch the energy shoot into her body. Mere seconds later before she could wonder what hit her, she watched the surrounding area shrink smaller and smaller, including Villager, who looked up with her eyes sparkling.
"Oh my! I'm getting bigger! Just like you did, Mayor!" Isabelle shouted. Bigger and bigger she grew until she was at 60 feet tall. Without saying a word, Villager applauded like she had approved of what she just saw.
"Oh? You approve of this, Mayor?" Isabelle said.

She then bent her knees down and lowered a hand, allowing Villager to climb onboard.
"Wow… just think, it wasn't too long ago when you were holding me! Now it's the opposite! I wonder why that is?" Isabelle asked. She then looked down as the shadowy monsters grumbled while looking up at the new giantess.
"We'll ponder that later. Right now, it's up to now giant me to save this village!" Isabelle said as she gently set Villager atop her head. Isabelle stomped forward and got to work immediately afterwards. She kicked several monsters way out in the distance, admiring how easy it was to dispose of these monsters despite the mass quantity of them. But of course, she didn't just let her feet do the talking. Seeing her long tail close to the ground, she planted it down there and dragged it as long as it would allow, steamrolling a group of monsters underneath until they disintegrated.
Isabelle wasn't content with just stepping on these monsters, of course. She got creative given the tools she had on hand. She pulled out a white ball with an exclamation mark on it, burying it into the ground with her shovel. She watched as a gullible group of monsters came running onto where she placed the pitfall, and once enough monsters stood on it, the ground gave way and they fell inside.
"Byeeeeeee!" Isabelle said as she waved at the monsters and then shoveled in a small hill's worth of dirt, burying them alive.
"Heh… that was kinda fun, though that's gonna mean adjusting the landscaping budget for this month." Isabelle said as she lightly blushed.
Isabelle then saw a group of monsters heading northward towards a building that she immediately recognized.
"Oh no! They're heading for the Happy Home Academy! We've gotta stop them, Mayor!" Isabelle said as she stepped through the village carefully.

Meanwhile, Digby (Isabelle's brother) and Lottie nervously backed up towards the entrance of the Happy Home Academy where the monsters closed in.
"Gulp… something tells me these things aren't here to buy a home!" Lottie said.
"It makes me wonder what Blathers would do…" Digby said.
"Sleep all day, probably!" Lottie said. Then, as the ground slowly thumped more and more, the duo watched as the giant Isabelle came over the bend.
"Isabelle!?" Digby shouted.
"Teehee… hi, brother! Having a little monster trouble?" Isabelle asked.
"Errrr… yeah! Just a little! Help us already!" Lottie shouted.
"Never fear! Super Giant Village Heroine Isabelle is here to save the day!" Isabelle said. The giantess made quick work of the monsters by pulling a trick out of Villager's playbook. She pulled out a bug catching net and swept it on the ground, scooping up every last monster and then flinging them into the distance. Any monster that somehow managed to avoid the attack were either stomped underneath or kicked by Isabelle's paws.
"Whew… thanks for the save, Isabelle!" Digby shouted. He then watched as Isabelle kneeled down and scooped him into her hands.
"You're welcome, brother. You're not jealous that I grew and you didn't?" Isabelle said.
"Er… no way! I wouldn't want to tick you off at that size!" Digby said.
"Hahaha!" Isabelle laughed as she cuddled Digby against her face. Villager couldn't help but giggle from atop Isabelle's head.

The giggling stopped when Isabelle looked back at the village and heard more screaming. It was more of the animal citizens being chased by the monsters. At the same time, after setting Digby back down on the ground, Isabelle's eyes glowed yellow and her body was giving off a rainbow aura.
"I can't stand seeing our village being attacked like this any longer." Isabelle said.
"But what can we do?" Lottie asked.
"I have an idea. Mayor, could you get all those monsters to chase you in a large group? Lottie, get Tom Nook and his sons. I'll need their help." Isabelle said.
"Roger!" Lottie shouted.
"Isabelle… you're glowing?" Digby said.
"Don't worry, Digby. It's just my Final Smash!" Isabelle said as she walked away from the Happy Home Academy.
"Final what?" Digby said to himself before he ran off to go help Lottie.

A couple minutes pass, and Villager is running around with all the monsters behind her. She made sure they got riled up when they saw her holding a Mr. Resetti saying a bunch of censored words sign. Eventually everyone made it back to Town Hall where they saw the giant Isabelle waiting.
"Now then, monsters. How'd you like to have your dream home of a lifetime? NOW, NOOKS!!!" Isabelle said calmly and then screamed. With lightning speed, Tom Nook and his sons, Timmy and Tommy, came running in and started building a very large scale house that trapped all the monsters inside. The monsters banged on the walls from inside trying to escape, but there was no getting out.
"All done!" Isabelle and the Nook family all shouted as they, and Villager, all went into victory poses. Then, without a wince from everyone near the house, it exploded into many pieces… and there were no monsters in sight.

Immediately the village cheered loudly for our heroes.
"Thanks, Tom! I couldn't have done it without you." Isabelle said.
"Always happy to help! Though I wonder… what gave me and the boys all that energy to build a house that quickly?" Tom Nook asked.
"Heh heh… that's a big secret only the mayor and I will know!" Isabelle said.
"Right, right. Come on, boys, what's say we go do some renovating at Nookington's?" Tom said as his boys cheered happily.

As they left, Isabelle looked down and picked up Villager.
"Whew! I'm glad we won, Mayor. That was exhilarating! I could go for a cup of coffee after that." Isabelle said. However, before the two could chat any further, they looked and saw another portal opening up, this one as big as Isabelle was right now.
"What the… Yikes!" Isabelle shouted as she and Villager got pulled inside with little effort.

Inkopolis Square

A lone Inkling Girl, who we'll simply call Inkling from this point forward, sat back on a bench in the heart of Inkopolis Square, kicking a lone rock on the ground a few yards into the distance. She gave some of her clothes a brush, which were nothing more than a white T-shirt, black shorts, and purple shoes with blue laces. There was also, of course, her signature orange hair.
"Sigh… maybe those other Inklings are right. I just bog everyone down. I mean, I've been C- ranked in every type of game for 6 months now." Inkling said. Then she looked up at the big TV up high in the center of the square. It brought a smile on her face to see her two favorite hosts on screen.
"Y'all know what time it is!" Pearl shouted.
"It's Off the Hook, coming at you LIVE from Inkopolis Square!" Marina said.
"Check it! Here are the current Regular Battle stages!" Pearl said. Marina scratched her record as images of Moray Towers and then Port Mackerel popped up on the screen.
"I've always wanted to operate one of those giant cranes on the piers." Pearl said.
"Follow your dreams, Pearl! Just make sure I'm not around!" Marina said. The two would go on to show off the Ranked Battle stages as well as the League Battle stages. Then there was an image of Grizzco Industries on screen.
"And now a word from our sponsor: Grizzco Industries is now hiring!" Pearl said.
"Let's work a Salmon Run shift later, Pearl!" Marina said.

That picture then faded away and the two ladies looked right into the camera.
"And that's all the time we've got! Until next…" Pearl said. Marina then put her hands up against the big headphones that were on her head.
"Whoa, Pearl! Hold up! I'm getting some breaking news into my headset!" Marina said.
"Yikes! What is it, Marina?" Pearl asked.
"Hold on… the pictures should be coming in soon." Marina said as they both looked at the screen behind them. Eventually it changed to that of the sky above Inkopolis Square, where a series of purple-colored portals were opening up.
"Whoa! What are those things!?" Marina shouted.
"If I know my science fiction, those are dimensional portals. Still think sci-fi is not real, Marina!?" Pearl shouted.
"Never mind that! What are those things coming out!?" Marina said.

By this point, all the Inkling Boys and Girls were no longer paying attention to the telecast as the shadowy monsters descended onto the Inkopolis Square grounds, sending all sorts of Inklings and creatures (like Crusty Sean) running for cover. Inkling, meanwhile, got up from her seat and backed away.
"Those… aren't Octolings for a change." Inkling said. Finally the monsters took sight of the girl and rushed towards her… at least until, like with the other girls spotlighted in this story, time came to a standstill and a white portal opened up with energy subsequently flying out. Inkling caught the ball and heard a female voice from within.
"Wha? Princess Apple? Is she a kid or a squid? Whoa!" Inkling said, watching as the ball let loose its energy and covered Inkling in it. Seconds later, the monsters and the other Inkling Boys and Girls still in the area watched as Inkling grew bigger and bigger until she was 60 feet tall.

Inkling had a stunned expression as she looked around her shoes.
"Whoa… I'm a giantess… this is cool!" Inkling shouted, suddenly jumping up and down in excitement with her Splattershot Junior in hand. And then she realized she was looking a long way down at the monsters that once cornered her. Then she had a big grin on her face.
"Are you creeps ready to go splat!?" Inkling shouted as she aimed her Splattershot Junior down and fired away, drenching and even drowning some monsters in orange ink. Those that managed to escape the blasts could only look up and see the bottoms of Inkling's shoes coming down in a hurry until BOOM!
Inkling roamed around the square, easily taking care of the monsters one by one. There were some she caught trying to scale some of the nearby buildings, but Inkling easily took care of them with a couple splats from her Splattershot Junior. She couldn't help but giggle over the orange mess she was making.
"Sorry! It'll wash off later! Promise!" Inkling said.

As the giantess marched around, Marina and Pearl came running out of their studio and watched the giant Inkling Girl work her magic.
"Whoa! You grow, girl!" Pearl shouted.
"Pun intended, Pearl?" Marina asked.
"Er… yeah! Man… wouldn't it be so cool to be that big?" Pearl said.
"Well… I guess, but remember the craziness that happened when Callie and Marie once tried that?" Marina said.
"Pfffft! You're such a worry wart, Marina! People eventually went nuts because their once favorite pop stars were really bigger than life! But you know what? Maybe that girl could be our biggest fan!" Pearl said. As Marina looked up and saw the giantess swing her hair around to swat away some incoming monsters, it caught part of a building and sent chunks of it down on the ground, landing right next to Marina and Pearl.
"Eeeeek! Maybe right now we should stick to reporting on this story from the inside." Marina said.
"Good idea… can't be famous when we're accidentally crushed flat!" Pearl said as the two ran back inside their studio.

Inkling suddenly remembered she had another weapon in her arsenal, so she magically swapped out the Splattershot Junior for a Splat Roller. Immediately she rolled it on the ground, flattening the shadowy monsters underneath or drowning them in her orange ink.
"Keep rolling, rolling, rolling!" Inkling playfully said. Despite killing so many monsters, there were still too many monsters to count, and it was starting to get on Inkling's nerves as she stomped the ground with her shoe a few times in place.
"Ugh… why can't Judd be around to whistle when time is up?" Inkling said. Just as she said that, however, she felt a surge of energy suddenly coarse through her body. Her eyes glowed yellow and her body and clothes glowed rainbow. She then clenched her fists and stared right down at the tiny monsters.
"Alright, you shadowy saps! Prepare yourselves, especially your ears, for the Killer Wail!" Inkling shouted as she reached behind her back and magically pulled out the Killer Wail. After pressing a few buttons on the device, suddenly a loud guitar riff rang through the air as orange sound waves surrounded almost the entire square. More importantly, it covered the shadow monsters in orange ink and forced them to cover their heads to keep them from exploding. What they did really didn't matter in the end, though, as the damage was too severe for them to stick around and they exploded in dark energy or got blown into the atmosphere, never to be seen in Inkopolis Square again.

Inkling breathed a deep sigh of relief now that there were no more monsters around. All she could see on the ground were the broken shards of glass from windows that couldn't handle a blast of sound from a giant-sized Killer Wail.
"Heh heh… sorry about that!" Inkling Girl said.
"Wow! You were awesome!" a male voice suddenly shouted. Inkling Girl rapidly looked around until she looked by one of her shoes and saw a blue-haired Inkling Boy standing there and waving up to her.
"Oh? You're pretty brave to be standing that close to me." Inkling Girl said.
"I know, but I watched you stomp around and defeat those monsters. You're awesome! Think maybe we can trade friend requests on SplatNet later?" Inkling Boy said. Inkling Girl couldn't help but giggle… this boy was like many others trying to get her to go out with him just because they were both good looking. But Inkling Girl had one advantage that she didn't have before. She was 60 feet tall now, so this time she kneeled down and scooped up the boy into her bare hands. The boy looked nervous at first, but saw the giantess smiling.
"I would like that, but on one condition." Inkling Girl said.
"(gulp) What's that?" Inkling Boy asked.
"That I give you a biiiiiiig kiss worthy of being on the news." Inkling Girl said as she pointed over to the big screen and saw Marina and Pearl talking in the foreground.
"Um… okay!" Inkling Boy said as he watched Inkling Girl pucker her lips and leaned in for the kiss.

But before she could plant the lips, however, a portal the same size as her opened up. You guessed it… she, and the Inkling Boy, got sucked in with little effort as the portal closed.

Giant Land Castle

For the past hour or so, Princess Apple and normal-sized Rosalina watched the fights play out from the portal. As the duo watched Inkling Girl suddenly get sucked into the portal, it brought concerned looks on both ladies.
"And another portal!? Rosalina, are you sure you have nothing to do with those?" Apple asked.
"I'm positive, Princess Apple. I'm trying to get a sense of where those portals originate." Rosalina said.
"Well, at least all those ladies were able to destroy all the monsters all by themselves. I hope they enjoy the feeling of being gigantic while it lasts." Apple said.
"Me too, Princess Apple. I…" Rosalina said, only for her to suddenly stop talking and gasp loudly.
"Rosalina, what's wrong?" Apple said.
"No… it can't be him…" Rosalina said.
"Who? It can't be who?" Apple said. She then watched as Rosalina took back the Dimensional Star and used it to open a portal of her own.
"Princess Apple, please stay here for your safety. I must go now." Rosalina said.
"Where are you going!?" Apple shouted.
"To a world where the light is immensely powerful. If I do not stop it, our world is doomed." Rosalina said.
"Rosalina, wait!" Apple shouted, but it was too late. Rosalina had already jumped inside the portal.

Apple sat back in her throne worried.
"A world where light is immensely powerful? What could she mean by…" Apple said.
"Princess Apple! You must come outside immediately!" Prince Hugo suddenly shouted as he came running into the throne room (with Madzilla behind him).
"Hugo? What's wrong? Is it the shadow monsters?" Apple asked as she quickly stood up from her throne.
"No no, we took care of those things, but there is something else coming. Please, come quickly!" Hugo said as he and the other giants made their way outside.

Eventually, outside the Giant Land Castle, everyone looked up at the sky where they saw an intense beam of light coming down.
"Honey, do you know what that is?" Hugo asked.
"I don't know…" Apple said. She watched as mushroom guards galore tried to shoot down the beam of light, but they were unsuccessful.
"RUN, EVERYONE!!" Apple shouted, realizing there was no stopping this massive beam which made her and everyone else in Giant Land look tiny. Everyone could only take a few steps before the light came down and swallowed everyone and everything in sight.

Unknown location

Meanwhile, the last of the portals opened and closed as Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and Rosalina all came falling out. First off, Inkling Girl was back to her normal size with the portal having somehow cancelled the effects of Apple's growth magic. The same applied to Princess Daisy, Isabelle, and Nana the Ice Climber. And they were far from alone.

Many famous heroes and villains were gathered over the cliffside, looking up as a strange creature brimming from all sides with light as well as an army of Master Hands were all floating down.
"Mama mia! There must be over 65 of us!" Mario said.
"That should be more than enough." Fox said. He then whipped out his blaster and aimed it upward, with other heroes such as Mega Man doing the same.
"Don't let a single one get away!" Fox said as he and the others looked up at the approaching army. Amazingly enough, the villains such as Bowser and King K. Rool didn't argue. It's like they knew a grim situation was unfolding before their eyes.
"We'll each need to take down about ten." Marth said.
"Stow your fear! It's now or never!" Zelda (back to her normal size as well) shouted.
"We'll win this. I know we will!" Pit shouted.

The group watched with a little confusion as they saw the Master Hands suddenly disintegrate into blue beams of light that swirled into the creature.
"Galeem! There's no reason to do this!" Palutena begged from the back of the group. The other characters didn't question how Palutena knew the creature's name, much like how they didn't wonder why villains like King Dedede and Ganondorf were part of the massive group gathered together. Not that they would have time to question anything to begin with. Because once Galeem had absorbed all the Master Hands' energy and briefly became a black hole, out came the surging beams of light.
"I MUST ERADICATE DHARKON'S PRESENCE ACROSS THE UNIVERSE." Galeem said in a rather monolithic tone.

Hero after hero. Villain after villain. It was consumed by the light. Those who fought the light seemingly vanished into thin air. Others lost their bodies and became spirits. Kirby was the only one who survived. A star of hope twinkles faintly as the dust settles on a new world.

A couple hours later

Kirby was making good progress to restore the entire universe to its natural order, having already freed a couple dozen spirits and a couple heroes, Mario and Marth, along the way. The next spirit battles were about to ensue, and they were big ones this time.
"Wait! Something big is coming." Marth commented as the ground lightly thumped and booming sounds softly rang in the air.
"Mama mia! Look!" Mario said as he pointed up and saw three 60 to 70 foot tall figures coming out from behind a hill. One of them looked to be a green-colored Bowser. Another looked to be Mario mixed in different colors like a mushroom retainer, and the third looked to be Princess Peach… dressed from head to toe in red and with her hair in brown instead of the signature blonde. The three giants stopped walking a few yards away from our three heroes.
"I am Madzilla." the giant 'Bowser' said.
"I am Prince Hugo." the giant 'Mario' said.
"I… am Princess Apple." the giant 'Peach' said.

The three giant spirits and the three heroes all got into their battle stances as they prepared for their most ultimate melee thus far.
