Jay McFadden was your normal guy. He didn’t really do anything out of the ordinary. He graduated from high school a couple years ago but didn't really feel like going to college, but he did get a full time job at IBM as their bitch, which wasn’t the exact title they provided, but that was just the basics of the job. Someone needs something, and Jay gets it. It was nothing fancy, but it paid the bills and it did pay nicely considering the qualifications he had.
It was the very first snowfall of the year in Fargo, North Dakota. Relieved to be getting off work Jay walked towards his car. A chill crept down his spine. He cringed for a moment and then fumbled with his keys. Several moments past and words better left unspoken passed through the air as Jay finally got into his car. It struggled to turn over, but finally caught. With a press of the pedal Jay was off quickly leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind. Jay turns down the one lane road towards his small neighborhood. Jay lays back in his plush seats relieved that it is finally the weekend. He glances down for a moment to get a CD and then as his eye trails back up to the road he sees a rather nice car speeding towards him. Jay turns his car slightly towards the roadside so when they do the same both vehicles will be able to safely pass. His eyes head back down towards his CD’s again. Finally finding the one he wanted he puts his eyes back on the road just in time to see the nice car that was in the distance now right in front of him. Not realizing what is happening Jay thinks how he wouldn’t mind having a Porsche 911. It finally dawns on him that they are going to collide. Jay swings his car towards the ditch and goes barreling in. He then drifts into unconsciousness.
Jay can feel a warm liquid sliding down his face as he struggles to awaken.
Some the hot liquids pierce his lips and enter his mouth. Expecting it to be
blood he pays it no heed until he gets a taste. Jay makes a horrible face as he
tries to get the grotesque tasting liquid out of his mouth. Finally getting his
swollen eyelids open Jay sees that he is covered in various liquids from his
car. Never having been to mechanically inclined he hopes that they aren’t
dangerous as he pushes his door open. Then struggling to get up the hill Jay
sees the car that hit him up ahead. As the doors swing open a trio of girls rush
out. Jay recognizes the all 3 of them. They live in the same small neighborhood
as him. The first out is 24 year old Elise Riggs. She is 5’11” 150lbs short
blonde hair, blue eyes. Your eyes have trouble focusing on her yellow Columbia
winter jacket. However you seem to have no trouble seeing the tight blue jeans
she has on. The first one out the passenger side is 18 year old Marisol (Mari
for short) Delgado has long blonde hair coming out of her pink stocking cap. She
has on a thick white winter coat and like Elise the same blue jeans that hug her
frame so nicely. Being only 5’2” 120lbs even from across the road you have to
look down at her. Lastly out you see the girl who always makes you nervous when
you are around her. She is one of yours sister's best friends but you still
don’t care for her too much. 20 year old Zoe Payne steps out and stretches. She
has dyed shoulder length red hair. She is a bit bigger then her friend Marisol
but not by much at 5’5 130lbs. As Jay takes another look at Zoe he can't help
but wonder if maybe it's the baggy clothes she wears that intimidates him so.
Starting to feel better physically Jay looks down at his totaled car. As he
staring down at it only gets him angrier and angrier. As he walks towards the
girls he only has a few things on his mind and none of them being reasonable.
“What were you thinking? Could you not see my car on the road or were you to
busy applying your make up and chit chatting to see me.”
Elise steps forward from the group. “Look im really sorry I was on the phone
with daddy and”
Not even allowing her to finish. Jay walks right up to the girls. As they take a
step back he only takes another step forwards. Being 6'5" 270lbs and an all
state linebacker in high school Jay has never had a problem intimidating people.
“I don’t really give a damn about daddy or what he was, is and ever will say.
Right now I only care about few things. Number one being what the liquids are
covering my body. Number two is what am I going to do about my car. Three being
what is this pain in my head that keeps getting worse and worse. Finally can you
please turn down the brightness on the jacket because its really bothering me.”
“Well look im really sorry. Let's just keep calm and im sure we can figure this
out and everything will be fine.”
Once again cutting Elise off Jay shoves Elise back. She stumbles backwards and
lands ass first on the road. “I am not calm, and we sure as hell better figure
this out now!”
Zoe and Mari rush to the side of Elise and help her up. Elise takes a few steps
back."Well look okay I have 19,000 dollars in my checking account. That should
be enough to get you a car and then no one has to find like daddy. If daddy
would find out about this he would pull my license and take my car away."
Jay grumbles a little bit then agrees. Just as he is about to apologize for his
actions his head starts to pound. "I, I, I need to sit down" Jay stumbles almost
tripping over several times before he reaches the side of the road. Jay plops
down and closes his eyes. He can hear the girls asking if he is all right but he
just ignores them and takes a few deep breaths. Jay is thankful that the girls
finally shut up but the sudden silence they took has him annoyed. The pounding
in Jay's head has however subsided. Jay opens his eyes while at the same time he
pulls himself up off the ground. However as his open he notices something
strangely wrong. The ground is covered in what he was just a moment ago wearing.
His black jacket that once kept him warm stretches on and on like the roadway.
Jay leaps off his jacket. As his bare feet sink into the now deep snow. A cold
shiver flows through Jay's body. The snow that was once barely noticeable inch
or two of snow is now just below his armpits. As if the situation at hand isn't
bad enough the ground starts to quiver. The snow around him shoots up into the
air. Jay struggles to see at all. In utter panic he just starts running. Well
trying to run in this deep snow. Then everything just stops all at once. Jay
turns around to see a black four-inch heel in his face. Taking a few steps back
but then he feels something at his back. He turns around to see a pair of
well-worn black tennis shoes. Having only one way left to go Jay heads to the
right as fast as he can but ends up plowing into the front heel of some black
hiking boots. Jay stares up at the heel that looks to be approximately twice the
size of him give or take a few centimeters. Jay takes a couple of deep breathes
hoping that maybe everything will be clearer.
Zoe takes her black hiking boot and lightly pushes Jay into the snow while at
the same time saying "well, well, well, I thought bugs died in the winter didn't
you girls."
As Zoe removes her boot from atop of Jay he finds himself embedded in the snow.
With only having his left arm free he tries to pull himself out but Jay's body
is just to well stick into the snow. Jay looks down at himself and then back at
the girls.
Zoë now places her boot directly over head. Jay stares up at the logo. The black
like teeth that extend from the bottom of the boot. The tears running down Jay's
face quickly freeze on his cheek. "Say your prayers, oh, and by the way. Once
you make it to heaven, why don't you tell my mom I say hi?"
The dark black boot rushes down towards the ground. Jay can barely comprehend
the rate of speed.
"Wait ZOE, STOP"
I couldn't believe it myself. So close to death pulled away at the last moment.
I look up at who my savior is. I see the face of Elise bearing down on me.
"OH GOD ELISE THANK YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU, I don't know what to say but"
Elise stomps her foot down right in front of jay."As you said to me shut up. We
are going to solve this problem now. I see a little bug in front of my shoe that
Zoe is willing to happily squish. The way I see it is by her squishing you it
solves allot of problems. One is being daddy never finds out. Two being your car
is totaled over there. It's snowing and it's icy. Your car slides off the side
of the road you stumble out to walk for help and disappear in the woods around
her never seen from again real mystery huh. Thirdly being I save myself 19,000
dollars. So why don't you just give me some reasons why Zoe just shouldn't stomp
the hell out of you? You shoved me to the ground. You made us feel like small
helpless people when yes we made a mistake but you never gave me us a chance to
apologize. All you did was yell and scream and cut me off again and again. You
were nothing but a jackass and now look at you. The heels to my platform shoes
are bigger then you. You're worthless; there's no cure for a mini man. I use to
play with micro machines when I was younger. I'm sure you could use those
nicely. So what do you have to say for yourself?"
Jay doesn't say anything for a long time. There's just silence. Just as the
girls start to turn to walk away Jay shouts as loudly as he can so they can hear
him. "Your right you know, right about everything. Right about leaving me here.
You're right about just letting me die your right I was a jerk. Saying I'm sorry
won't ever fix what I did and Im in no position to repair the damage I did."
A smirk crosses Elise's face. "Well doesn't your tune change awfully quick their
bucko. You know I feel something at the back of my throat. I just can't quite
seem to get it out." Elise spends a few minutes trying to get her throat cleared
while jay just helplessly stares up at her knowing that something is coming but
not sure what exactly. Then a green wad of saliva comes from the mouth of Elise.
Jay struggles with his one arm to try to get free. The only thing he can do is
scream but as he screams the spit just splatters all around him. Before he can
get his mouth closed some of her saliva leaks in. Jay's eyes burn from it. The
top half of his body just covered in her spit. The cold air quickly rushing over
him. The saliva seeps into the snow all around him. Jay can only stare up in
utter helplessness as the wet snow around him is starting to turn to ice around
his body, greatly staining his winter outfit on top of things.
"OH GOD, Girls please help me. I will do anything, please just don't leave me
like this. I don't want my life to be ended by some car on the road."
Zoe steps forward and trembles in fear. "Don't worry a car wont come and squish
you because I get to kill you right now."
"ZOE, Would you stop that? I have a much better idea. Come here for a second."
"Your lucky squirt that Mari here has an idea but just remember if we don't like
the idea I still get to squish you and I sure hope her idea is rotten so I can
crush your puny body with the full weight of boots."
The three girls walk away from Jay and huddle around each other. Jay tries to
make out what they are saying but its no use. Even with how loud there voices
now sound.
The well-worn pair of shoes now steps in front of Jay. "Well the girls liked my
plan so guess what. You're coming snowboarding with us." Jay looks up at once
puny Marisol with nothing but glee in his eyes. She extends her pinky finger and
bellows down to him to grab hold and she will pull him out. Jay struggles to
grab her short fingernails with his one arm. He wishes she wasn't so worried
about touching Elise's spit but finally jay is pulled from the snow. Mari drops
the tiny Jay McFadden into her right pink mitten covered hand. In almost
amazement he watches how easily she puts on her other mitten with just the one
hand. Jay can do nothing but curl up into a ball on her mitten to try to keep
warm as the girls get back into the car. As Mari enters the car the warm air
quickly puts Jay to sleep.
Hour's later Jay awakens to Elise and Zoe staring down at him.
"Where am I?"
Elise lowers her head so Jay can easily see her. "Well you're at my Cabin. Us
girls were on our way to a snowboarding weekend when Mari came up with a clever
idea. So here you are on my coffee table. Now that your awake and warm its time
for the games. Zoe you want to do the honors."
Zoe happily plucks Jay off the table. You can immediately tell that Elise's dad
must be well off. Jay cant help but see the paintings on the wall that alone are
worth more then his home, his car, and 4 years at Yale college put together. A
scraping sound brings Jay back into the real world as he sees Zoe opening a cage
and then letting him drop to the floor below. Jay stands up face to face with an
Iguana. He then looks through glass walls at three girls staring at him.
"Oh meet my pet Iguana Freddie. He's so hungry. I can't wait to see what he does
to you. He eats flies usually but you eat anything when you're hungry. "
Freddie wraps his tail around Jay. Jay hammers and pounds away in fear as he
sees the mouth closing in on him. Finally seeing no other option he bites down
on the tail. Freddie cries out in pain as Jay scampers towards the corner.
Freddie chases after with now anger on top of hunger. Freddie leaps towards Jay
but he ducks and starts running back the way he came as Freddie slams into the
wall. Jay looks back seeing that the Iguana hasn't moved the corner he starts to
head back towards it while at the same time the girls have there eyes locked on
Freddie also. Jay looks at Freddie then back at the girls and shrugs. Just as he
places his arm on his chest Freddie latches his teeth into Jay's arm as Elise
and Zoe erupt in cheers and Mari remains quiet. Jay bellows out in pains of
agony as Freddie now is firmly latched onto his pray. With his hind legs Freddie
has Jay pinned now and his head cocked ready to snap his head off when Jay with
one final last-ditch effort kicks Freddie. The air flies out of the iguana and
Jay takes off running as fast as he battered body can go. Freddie however starts
climbing across the logs and branches to cut jay off. As Freddie leaps at Jay
knowing this is it as the iguana lands atop of him Freddie's teeth will pierce
his neck. Jay breaks off a branch and shoves the branch towards the iguana and
by luck alone it goes through the neck off Freddie Jay takes a couple steps back
in shock that he survived. He then looks over in fear at Elise.
"You killed Freddie and now your going to pay. You're going to wish he did kill
you. I won't give you the satisfaction of having Zoë smash you into pieces. I
won't let her harm you one bit because your going to suffer every day I am
alive. Each day will bring you only new ways of my torturing you. I will get
only pleasure as you cry tears of pain wishing you would just die. You will be
on the brink of death and I will allow you to live just so you can experience a
new way to suffer on your way to the same very edge of death. You will become
familiar with what it feels like to die. You will live your life one moment from
heaven or hell. But since we are meeting the guys tomorrow I want our boards to
look nice so you can spend the night polishing each of your boards and this task
will be your the very thing you look forward to most each night because it will
be a escape from the pain you are forced to bear."
Zoe and Elise grab their jackets and start heading towards the door as the
pause. "Mari come on."
Mari turns "okay just a second I have to get my Asthma medication I will meet
you at the car."
"Okay hurry" shouts Zoe and Elise as they walk out and shut the door.
Marisol bends down towards Jay. As she extends her hand Jay leaps back in fear
of what kind of torture she will inflict. "Please don't fear me. I know Elise
will be mean to you but I just want you to know they are good people. I'm sure
they will realize its wrong to torture you like that and even if they don't. I
will try to get Elise to let me take care of you on weekends. Maybe we can be
friends. Oh and make sure you get my name extra shiny on my board. Thanks hun."
Mari winks and then grabs her Asthma medication and walks out the door.
Epilogue
6 months went by and Elise kept good on her promise. Each day she gave him
more and more pain. While to the rest of the world she was a sweet girl. To Jay
she was a domineering bitch who he fears more then the devil himself. But as a
year and half passed by Elise grew tired of Jay. When on one hot summer August
day she was going too drop him into the garbage disposal.
" When maybe it was god stepping in. Maybe all of this was god's way of having
me repent for my sins but by chance, luck, fate, or the master plan whatever you
wish to call it. Elise got a call from a girl I hadn't seen in at that time for
a year and half. Elise had kept me away from every living soul but her. But Mari
just happened to call. Elise, I guess just wanting to gloat or get praise told
Marisol how she was just about to drop me in the garbage disposal so I could
meet my demise. So that's when Mari asked if she could have me. Not really
giving a damn about me anymore. Elise tossed me carelessly over onto the table
and then into her purse. And that Angel cakes is how I met your mom and why I am
so tiny. Do you understand Jenny hunny?"
"I guess Daddy but I don't get why im big and your small?"
"Neither do I but how about you go to bed now okay?"
"Okay Good night" bellows Jen as she skips up the stairs to bedroom. While in
peeking around the corner you see Mari smiling at her little guy.
