Stay Fresh and Huge!

(Cubed Cinder; idea by Goomba)

Night was beginning to fall over Inkopolis, including the Octotrooper Hideout where Cap'n Cuttlefish was giving the message boards and even his own walking stick a good brushing. It would normally be peaceful and quiet around this time… except for one familiar voice behind him.
"Just you wait, Cuttlefish! One day I will be out of this snowy prison and I will have my revenge!" DJ Octavio said as he tapped the sides of the snow globe that he was still trapped in. Cuttlefish simply swung his head around.
"Yap yap yap. You've been spewing that nonsense for the past 199 days in a row! What makes you think today will be any different?" Cuttlefish said.
"Haha! Because I'm not the kind of villain who just sits by idly counting the number of snowflakes in here! I have a backup plan just waiting for the right time to strike." DJ Octavio said.
"Heh, yeah, and I'm the king of the Lair of the Octoballs. G'night, Octavio." Cuttlefish said as he walked away and then transformed into a squid so he could enter the manhole that connected Octo Valley with the Inkopolis Plaza.
"Arrrrrgh! I'm sure I got the calculations correct!" DJ Octavio said as he pounded the inside of the globe out of frustration. Suddenly, he heard a loud beeping noise. He looked down at a watch-like device attached to one of his arms, where he saw a grey light blinking.
"Ahhhh… at last. My backup plan is set in motion. Tomorrow morning, those nefarious squids will be looking up a lot…" DJ Octavio said as he rubbed a couple of his arms together.

Meanwhile, life was bustling for the Inkopolis Plaza. Inkling Boys & Girls of all colors were walking around, admiring the many neon lights that were promoting the upcoming Splatfest. Any Inkling that wasn't in the plaza were probably off competing in either Turf Wars or King of the Hill, especially now that the Octarians are gone and all of Inkopolis is at peace.
And speaking of said Splatfest, everyone looked up at the giant TV as the Inkopolis News theme blasted out of the speakers. The boys and girls cheered as they saw Callie and Marie both appear onscreen.
"Hold on to your tentacles…" Callie said.
"It's Inkopolis News time!" Marie finished. Then the graphic behind the ladies changed to a picture that said 'Team VGGTS' on one side and 'Team ACGTS' on the other. 'Team VGGTS' had a picture of a lady we know as Tifa Lockhart holding onto a planet (Earth) with one hand, while 'Team ACGTS' had a similar picture, except with Sailor Moon gasping in disbelief and Mabel Pines smiling with Waddles (both from Gravity Falls) tucked in the right corner of the picture.
"What team are you on? VGGTS or ACGTS?" Callie said.
"Head over to the Pledge Box and pick a side!" Marie finished.
"Let's unveil the first Splatfest battle stages!" Callie said.
"Wait for iiiiit…" Marie finished. The girls looked to see a picture of Urchin Underpass pop up.
"OK, Marie. What's your favorite strategy here?" Callie said. Marie folded her arms and closed her eyes.
"My strategy is to not give away my strategy." Marie said. Callie just rolled her eyes, knowing her cousin was being her usual self. The next picture to pop up was of Walleye Warehouse.
"In a remote corner of a dimly lit warehouse… two brave Inklings prepare to meet their destin…" Callie said.
"BATTLING! They're battling, aren't they!?" Marie said. The picture behind the Squid Sisters changed back to a basic purple.
"Well, until next time…" Callie said.
"Staaaay fresh!!!" both ladies shouted as they did their signature poses.

Then the TV picture went out, and suddenly Callie and Marie both appeared atop the two parked trucks that were previously unlit; but now one flashed VGGTS while the other flashed ACGTS. The Inkling Boys and Girls in the plaza cheered loudly as Callie and Marie got to dancing and singing a song that only the Inklings could truly understand the lyrics too. As some danced the night away, they wondered how Callie and Marie got on stage so fast. Of course, they had no idea that the Squid Sisters always prerecorded their news reports. Eventually, though, it was getting far too late for everyone to stay up any longer, and eventually everyone went home to go to bed. Even the arenas were shut down of any ongoing Turf Wars or other team battles once an announcement went out that all arenas were closing due to 'maintainence.'

Overnight, however, things wouldn't be so quiet for one of the arenas, specifically the Arowana Mall. Near the center of the mall, a grey-colored ink started leaking out from underneath the ground. It started out as a dribble, but as the hours passed, it became a very large puddle…

The next morning, Callie and Marie walked into the production studio located in a building just behind the Inkopolis Tower. Security was tight for the studio… Callie and Marie had to flash their badges to a half dozen security guards before they could finally enter the studio itself where they usually shot their news pieces. The two girls went straight for the series of monitors, each of which was focused on a different arena. They looked at places like Urchin Underpass, Moray Towers, and the Kelp Dome… all of which were being used for practice by the Inklings in advance of the first official battle of this Splatfest that would be tonight.
"Haha! Isn't it great watching all this competition, Marie?" Callie said.
"Yeah… even though it's unofficial right now." Marie said.
"I can't wait to give everyone a bunch of Super Sea Snails!" Callie said.
"You can't wait for ANYTHING, cousin." Marie said.
"Awwww… I can't help it, Marie! I'm the excitable one!" Callie said. Marie nodded in agreement, knowing that's been true since they were born. Marie would always do her best to keep a level head, but with Callie… she would always act like she had just cleaned out Booyah Base and bought the best outfits of all time.

Eventually, the girls looked at the monitor that was focused on Arowana Mall. That's when they shared a perplexed look on their faces.
"Huh? What's up with Arowana Mall?" Marie said.
"Yeah! Why is that arena so quiet?" Callie asked.
"Good morning, Squid Sisters." a male voice said from behind. Callie and Marie swung around and saw it was a turtle wearing a business suit walking towards them.
"Oh! Good morning, Director Bigshot!" Callie said.
"As you can plainly see, Arowana Mall is empty, but there's a reason for that. Look near the center of the arena." Bigshot said as he adjusted his glasses. Callie and Marie did just that and looked near the center of the mall. At first they couldn't find anything, but finally Marie spotted the difference.
"Oh! That puddle of grey ink." Marie said.
"Huh? Grey? There's a color you never see! Just like red… oooooooh… thank goodness that color was changed!" Callie said.
"This is our top story for the upcoming news flash. Get to the makeup room so that you're looking nice and camera-ready for your report on the grey ink." Bigshot said. The turtle director started to walk away, but then Callie called him back.

"Director Bigshot, wait! This is such an important new discovery. Perhaps this is finally the time for us to do a live report!" Callie shouted.
"Live!?" Bigshot shouted.
"What!? Callie, are you crazy!?" Marie shouted.
"Come on, Marie! It will be fun! I've always wanted to do a live report ever since the day you hired me, Director Bigshot. The excitement… the drama… the energy of doing a news report live AND on the scene!" Callie said.
"Callie, you know full well how doing a live report is a terrible idea! Don't you remember what they said about live reports during our training?" Marie said. Callie, however, didn't seem to be listening to her cousin. In fact, she walked up to Bigshot and held one of his hands.
"Please, Director Bigshot. Just give us a chance to do just ONE live report, especially on a story this big!" Callie shouted. Bigshot took one look at Callie's eyes and came to an immediate decision.
"Okay, okay, fine. You both can go to Arowana Mall and do a report live… but make it fast before someone else beats us to the story!" Bigshot said.
"Yay! Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!" Callie said, hugging the turtle's arm before he finally pulled himself loose and walked away. Callie started to run off out of the studio, but stopped when she saw Marie standing still.
"(sigh) I don't know…" Marie said as she folded her arms and looked down on the floor. Callie then grabbed her by one of the arms.
"Come on, Marie! I know you're going to love this!" Callie said.
"HEY! Not so hard!" Marie shouted as the Squid Sisters made their way out.

About a half hour later, the Squid Sisters were all set up for a live broadcast about 15 yards away from the big puddle of grey ink. Both ladies dusted off their dresses one more time as they clutched their respective microphones.
"Going live in 30 seconds, ladies!" one of the turtles said as he adjusted the tripod one more time.
"Isn't this exciting, Marie?" Callie said.
"I guess. I still say we're taking a significant risk being out here." Marie said.
"Awwww… come on, Marie, lighten up! It's just grey ink. What harm can it do?" Callie said.
"You REALLY should talk to Inklings on the losing sides of Turf War battles." Marie said.
"Going live in 10… 9… 8… 7…" the turtle counted down and Callie and Marie both smiled for the camera, waiting for their cue to start talking.

Meanwhile, at Inkopolis Plaza, the giant TV screen once again changed pictures and showed the opening of Inkopolis News. Already, the boys and girls in the plaza saw a big difference when they saw Callie and Marie standing not only in the flesh in Arowana Mall but also in front of the puddle of grey ink.
"Hold on to your tentacles…" Callie said.
"It's Inkopolis News time!" Marie said.
"And this time we're coming to you LIVE from Arowana Mall! Isn't this exciting, Marie!? Our first live report!" Callie said.
"Yes… very exciting. But we shouldn't waste any more important time!" Marie said as she gave a glaring look while smiling to her cousin.
"Oh, yes… anyway, as I said… we're here live from Arowana Mall to bring you some breaking news!" Callie said.
"This arena has not been reopened since the maintainence period last night, and you can see behind us why." Marie said.
"That's right, Marie! A huge puddle of grey ink has formed near the center of the mall!" Callie said.
"It's definitely a sight to behold, as grey is normally not a color of ink you would find here in Inkopolis." Marie said.
"No indeed! Where did this grey ink come from? What mysteries does it hold?" Callie said.
"We'll investigate and attempt to get back to you with new information as soon as possible." Marie said.
"Until then, all citizens are advised to stay away from Arowana Mall for their own safety!" Callie said.
"At least there are still plenty of arenas still open." Marie said.
"That's right, Marie! And that reminds me… let us remind you what arenas will be part of tonight's upcoming Splatfest!" Callie said.

For the next few minutes, Callie and Marie went over a list of arenas that the Splatfest between Team VGGTS and Team ACGTS would be held in. Then it was time to end the live newscast.
"Well, that does it for our first live news broadcast! Until next time…" Callie said.
"Staaaay fresh!!!" both ladies shouted as they did their signature poses. A few seconds later, the red light on top of the camera the two ladies were facing went out.
"Clear!" the turtle shouted. The two ladies breathed a sigh of relief.
"Alright! That was so cool! See, that didn't go so bad." Callie said.
"Okay, okay. You were right, Callie. Still, can we please not make a habit out of this? I'm still not comfortable over this." Marie said.
"Awwww… come on, Marie, you worry waaaaaaay too much. We did a 10 minute live broadcast and nothing bad happened to us!" Callie said. As she walked up the ramp to help put the equipment, she stepped into a puddle of water and ended up losing her balance.
"Whoaaaaaa!" Callie said as she landed on her behind and slid down the ramp, right towards the puddle of grey ink. Marie gasped as she watched her cousin slide past her.
"Callie!!!" Marie shouted as she grabbed one of Callie's white gloved hands, only to get pulled down with her cousin. Both girls went sliding down the ramp, and their momentum caused them to continue sliding even on flat surfaces. Eventually… SPLASH!

Both girls landed in the grey ink. They both looked down at the literal mess they were in.
"Wheeee! That was fun! Can we do that again?" Callie said, clearly remaining upbeat despite what happened a short while ago. Marie, on the other hand, was not a happy camper.
"Oh, for crying out loud! We're in the mess that we tried to avoid!" Marie shouted. As both girls got back on their feet, Callie was the first to notice something peculiar about the grey ink.
"Huh? Marie, look! The grey ink isn't covering us." Callie said. Indeed, unlike typical ink that leaves itself on the skin and clothes (at least until it's washed off with that person's neutral color), this grey ink wasn't leaving any trace of mess on either Callie or Marie.
"Hmmm… that's weird. What kind of ink is this, exactly?" Marie said.
"I don't know. Maybe it's…" Callie said. She had to stop when she suddenly felt the urge to hold her head.
"It's what, Callie? What is it?" Marie asked.
"Oooooh… I feel kinda tingly, all of a sudden." Callie said. Then Marie felt the urge to hold not just her head, but her chest and hips as well.
"Ooooh… me too. What is this weird feeling?" Marie said. As both girls closed their eyes trying to fight their way through the tingling, they didn't notice a most important transformation they were going through.

The two were growing bigger. And bigger. And bigger.

The growth spurt was fast. Already they were towering over the Arowana Mall arena, and it was only a few seconds worth of growing before it stopped. The tingling went away too, and Callie and Marie were able to open their eyes again. At first, they were confused over what they were seeing.
"Huh? Where did we go? Where's the Arowana Mall? Did that grey ink teleport us somehow?" Callie said. Marie then looked down and gasped.
"Callie…" Marie said.
"What is it, Marie?" Callie asked.
"I know where the mall went…" Marie said as she gently pointed down to the ground, just behind Callie. Callie looked where Marie was pointing, and she gasped as well.
"Oh my! Arowana Mall shrunk!" Callie said.
"Um… I think we're the ones that have grown, Callie." Marie said. Callie looked around the rest of the area and saw more than just the mall that had 'shrunken.'
"Wow! We're totally giantesses!" Callie said as her eyes lit up and she hugged herself in delight.
"It… it had to have been that grey ink that made us grow." Marie said.
"Oh yeah, you're right! Maybe that's why it didn't leave a mess on our clothes. Oh wow… science is so awesome!" Callie said.
"Huh? Science?" Marie asked.
"Well, how else do you explain the emergence of ink that can make anyone who touches it grow super big? We've gotta go spread the news!" Callie said. The magenta-clad giantess started to step out of the square, but Marie put a hand to her shoulder.
"Wait, Callie! We can't just go walking around like this! We'll cause a panic!" Marie said.
"Maybe, but there's no way I'm going to stand here like a mannequin! Besides, isn't the first law of being a giantess to walk around and have fun?" Callie said.
"Well… yeah… but…" Marie said.
"Great! Come on, let's go to the Inkopolis Plaza! We'll make our big announcement there… teehee, no pun intended!" Callie said. As Marie watched her cousin walk off into the distance and listened to the booms each of her steps were leaving behind, she rolled her eyes.
"(sigh) Maybe the Splatfest teams will have a field day with this." Marie said as she walked quickly after her cousin.

Down on the ground, the turtle who was helping Callie and Marie with the live news report was busy putting equipment away. He turned around expecting to speak with the girls.
"Okay, ladies. Hop onboard and we'll head back to the sta…" the turtle said, only to stop when he looked up and saw the massive black boots of both girls stepping over him. The turtle watched as the now super-sized girls walked away towards Inkopolis Plaza. The turtle then rubbed his eyes.
"Maybe I do need that vacation after all." the turtle said as he got back to packing up the van.

Life was pretty much business as usual in the Inkopolis Plaza. The weapon and clothing shops were keeping busy and Inkling Boys and Girls were trash talking each other about the upcoming Splatfest between Team VGGTS and Team ACGTS (especially who made for a better 'mascot'… Tifa Lockhart or Sailor Moon). But a series of boom sounds brought almost all that activity to a halt, especially as the sounds got louder and ground started to shake rhythmically.
"Oh my gosh! Look!" one of the Inkling Girls shouted as she pointed up to the sky behind the towering Inkopolis Tower. The tower may have been tall, but there were now suddenly two familiar figured that were even taller than the structure. Callie smiled as she looked at not only how small the plaza now looked, but also the fact the Inkopolis Tower rose up no higher than chest level. Marie had a more subdued reaction over the size difference between herself and the tower.
"Oh my… we grew bigger than I thought." Marie said.
"Teeheehee… to think anyone, let alone us, could grow bigger than the Inkopolis Tower! This gets me all the more excited that this has happened!" Callie said. Marie was next looking down at the many Inklings who were staring up at herself and Callie.
"Um… everyone's staring, Callie. I think you better hurry up with that 'big' announcement." Marie said. Callie smiled and then took a small step forward.
"Hold on to your tentacles…" Callie said. She looked over to Marie who was slow to reply as she continued to be amazed over the different perspective.
"Oh, um… it's Inkopolis News time!" Marie finished.
"As you can see… we have a big news flash! And I mean BIIIIIIIIIIIG!" Callie said as she spread her arms out as wide as possible, almost clipping the tower with one of her fingers.
"That grey ink Callie and I reported on earlier? We found out exactly what it does." Marie said.
"That's right. As you can see, we are now the Super-Sized Squid Sisters! What do you think?" Callie said.
"Oh, but don't worry. We won't be like those giant monsters from those really old movies many of you Inklings we've heard like to laugh at." Marie said.
"Well, not much anyway! Still, while we do walk around and have some fun, you may want to take cover wherever you can!" Callie said. Marie was clearly looking uncomfortable with the way Callie was talking, but she quickly went back to a positive face.
"Ummm… in the meantime, authorities have completely sealed off Arowana Mall, so don't go running there thinking you can swim in the grey ink and grow as big as us." Marie said.
"Teehee… that's right! We wouldn't want a bunch of giant Inkling Boys and Girls running around, would we? So until next time…" Callie said.
"Staaaay fresh!!!" both ladies shouted as they did their signature poses.

Unfortunately for Marie, she clipped a small piece of the top of the Inkopolis Tower and sent it falling down towards the ground. Although it didn't land on anyone or anything aside from the ground, Marie still gasped.
"Oops… sorry!" Marie said.
"Haha! Don't worry, Marie. It looks like it didn't hit anyone. Still, doesn't that make you feel good? That we have so much power to go with this increased size?" Callie said.
"Well… yeah…" Marie said.
"Great! I knew you'd agree with me! Hey, I know! Let's go invade the Walleye Warehouse! It'd be awesome to go stomp around there!" Callie said.
"I don't know, Callie…" Marie said.
"Come on, it'll be fun! Later, everyone!" Callie said as she waved all the Inklings in the plaza goodbye and then grabbed Marie by the arm.
"Hey! Stop pulling, Callie!" Marie said as the two giantesses exited the plaza. Meanwhile, coming out from one of the shops was Judd, the cat judge of all Turf War matches. He watched as the giantesses marched off into the distance.
"Oh my! That's way beyond regulation! I better speak with Cap'n Cuttlefish about this!" Judd said.

A few minutes later, Callie and Marie both smiled (Callie more so given her excitement over being a giantess) as they approached the grounds of the Walleye Warehouse District. Crates and large storage facilities were all the giantesses could see, and Callie couldn't stop giggling over how small everything looked.
"Teeheehee! This is soooooo cool, isn't it, Marie?" Callie asked.
"Yeah… I'll admit it's fun seeing the warehouse area so small." Marie said.
"Haha! To think we once worked at this teeny tiny place. Remember those uniforms?" Callie said.
"Yeah. I burned mine after I quit." Marie said.
"Hohoho… that's right, Marie. You never were fond of working here." Callie said.
"Oh, I didn't mind too much. It was all the times you broke the assembly line that I cringed." Marie said. Callie twiddled her thumbs and brushed one of her giant boots around.
"Yeah… I guess the life of shipping boxes and crates full of online merchandise wasn't for us. But what do you say, for old times sake, we really mess this place up?" Callie said.
"Huh? Are you talking about rampaging all over this area?" Marie asked.
"Come on, Marie. Pleeeeeeeeease? I really wanna wanna wanna crush some stuff while I'm this tall!" Callie said.
"Okay, okay. We can stomp around here. It doesn't look like there are any Inklings around anyway." Marie said.
"Yippee! I say we have a crushing contest! Whoever crushes the most stuff in 2 minutes wins!" Callie said.
"Wins what, exactly?" Marie asked.
"Ummmm… I don't know. I'll think of something later. Ready, go!" Callie said as she walked to a different section of the warehouse grounds. Marie did the same thing in the opposite direction.

There were still workers (of various sea creature types) that were unaware of the presence of the supersized Callie and Marie. Callie would be the first to know the warehouse district was not devoid of life as she ripped the roof off one of the factories and peeked inside.
"Oh! No Inklings but the factory is still operating. Hi, everyone! What's up? Aside from me, I mean!" Callie said. The workers instinctively went into a frenzy. They dropped whatever they were doing, whether it be clipboards, remote controls, or smaller-sized crates, and ran for the nearest exits.
"Awwww… don't run away! I won't bite, I promise!" Callie said. She looked down by her knees and saw many of the workers running by her legs, covered by her magenta tights. The few remaining creatures inside the factory? She scooped them up into her gloved hands and raised them up to her face.
"Fufufufu… you all look so cute being so tiny. I could just eat you alive!" Callie said. The creatures immediately began begging for mercy.
"Oh, but don't worry! I'm not THAT kind of giantess! In fact, why don't you all go for a slide? My treat!" Callie said. She repositioned herself while sitting so that her legs were stretched out fully and she was leaning back at an angle. Then she placed the creatures at the very top of her outfit, keeping them from sliding by cradling them against her hand.
"Okay… going down in 3… 2… 1!" Callie said as she lifted her hand up, forcing the creatures to go sliding down her black and magenta dress. Some of the creatures stayed on her tights once they got past the dress while others fell between her massive legs and onto the ground. Callie further teased these creatures by inching both her legs closer and closer.
"Teehee… you better get out before the walls of Callie close!" Callie said. She waited almost a minute before finally all the creatures were away from her legs.
"Hahaha! That was too fun!" Callie said as she playfully kicked her legs up and down on the ground. As she did so, however, it was knocking various stacks of crates nearby down, and one crate landed atop one of Callie's fingers. Even though she was quite big and even though she wore gloves, she still felt the crate touching down.
"Ow!" Callie said as she briefly rubbed her finger against her teeth. She then looked down and saw the crate that caused her calamity.
"Oooooh… bad crate! I guess this means no supper for you!" Callie said as she formed a fist with one of her hands and pounded it down on the crate, smashing it (and whatever was inside) into numerous pieces.
"Teehee! That was immensely satisfying! I should shred some more of these teeny tiny crates." Callie said. After standing back up to her full height, she picked up a couple into her hands and casually dropped them onto the ground. They shattered as soon as they landed. But that wasn't enough for Callie. She picked up a couple more crates, and this time she tossed them up in the air. Then she quickly did a 360 degree turn, causing the tentacles wrapped by her black bow to stretch out. She sliced up both crates like a samurai slicing fruit in midair. Even though she couldn't see this action with her golden eyes, the falling splintered pieces of the crate told her she was successful.
"Wow… now THAT was awesome! I should've brought Inkopolis News here to film it!" Callie said as she focused her attention on the other crates and figured out how else she could destroy them.

Marie, being more laid back compared to her cousin, took things as slow as she could. She waited for the working creatures to run far enough away before she got to what she had in mind, although she had to stop when another group of workers from another factory came storming out. Most of these workers ran between Marie's two black boots, and Marie wasn't too happy as she put her hands on her hips.
"(sigh) So much for exiting in an orderly fashion, like our boss used to say during a fire drill." Marie said. She watched as a crab-like creature was running, but then tripped himself up about five yards away from one of Marie's boots. What concerned Marie was the fact this creature wasn't getting up, so that's when she kneeled down and gently picked up the crab into one of her gloved hands. The crab panicked as he watched the ground fade away, then he turned around and saw nothing but Marie's huge face.
"Eeeep! Don't eat me, please!" the crab said.
"I have no intention of eating you, but I am curious as to why you didn't get up." Marie said.
"Ow… I think I twisted my ankle when I slipped and fell trying to run from you." the crab said.
"I'm so very sorry. Your injury was my fault. Hey, you!" Marie said as she looked down and saw an octopus-like creature down by her boots. The octopus panicked at first, but calmed down when he saw the giantess instead lay the crab down by his side.
"My friend here has injured himself. Please take him to safety." Marie said.
"Y-y-y-y-yes, ma'am!" the octopus said as he cradled the crab by his side and the two walked away.

Eventually, there were no more co-workers to be found anywhere near Marie's boots, which gave her the opportunity she needed.
"Good. Now I can get a feel for what being this big feels like." Marie said. That's when she raised one of her legs up and brought it down on one of the warehouses, leaving a gaping hole in its roof. She raised her other leg and stomped another hole into the warehouse. Then she ripped the rest of the roof off with her gloved hands. Once that was gone, Marie went on one mini-stomp after another, crushing whatever crates she could find in front of her. Sometimes she would lean forward and crush a few crates together by clapping her hands together. Either way, Marie was being much more destructive… and yet it was bringing a twitch of a smile to her face.
Marie walked over to another warehouse, this time ripping the roof off entirely instead of stepping on it first. After throwing the roof aside, Marie looked inside, she saw almost nothing but conveyor belts carrying an everlasting supply of crates.
"Now then, I guess it's my turn to shut down the assembly line." Marie said as she raised one of her legs again and stomped on part of the conveyor belt. Almost right away, alarms went off as crates fell off the assembly line and piled together onto the floor. Marie couldn't help but chuckle as the incident brought back memories of when she and Callie worked together and Callie would always find one way or another to stop the assembly line. She always wondered how it was humanly possible they weren't fired after one of these incidents.

Marie was so fascinated with watching the factory whip itself into a frenzy… she didn't notice Callie coming.
"BOOOO!!!" Callie shouted as she got her face within a yard of her cousin's face.
"Hey! Whoaaaaa!!!" Marie said as she stepped backwards out of shock from seeing Callie so close and hearing her voice so loudly. She ended up tripping over the last warehouse she was crushing and fell backwards with a resounding BOOOOOOOM!
She crushed many crates underneath her behind as she rubbed her backside.
"Ow ow ow ow…" Marie said.
"Hahaha! I got you good!" Callie said. Marie looked annoyingly up at her cousin, who was holding her hand out to help her up.
"Yes. Yes you did, Callie." Marie said as she grabbed Callie's hand and was helped back to her feet.
"Wow… looks like you won. You really did a number on a couple of these warehouses! I got careless and played with some of the workers too much." Callie said.
"So I see. So what do I win?" Marie said.
"Oh… right. Ummm… I still haven't thought of the prize…" Callie said. Marie smiled and patted her cousin on her shoulder.
"I tell you what. I'll buy you dinner for the next two nights, and if Team VGGTS wins the Splatfest, I'll make it four nights. Deal?" Marie said. The two giantesses shook hands.
"Okay! Fine by me." Callie said.

"So what now? I think we've done enough damage to this area." Marie said.
"Yeah, you're right. Oh? How about we go to Octo Valley? That's a pretty wide open spot even for our size." Callie said.
"Works for me. You lead the way." Marie said.
"Okay! But why me?" Callie asked.
"So I can keep an eye on you." Marie said as she winked an eye at her cousin.
"Ooooooh… you always were the crafty one!" Callie said as the two giantesses walked out of what was left of Walleye Warehouse.

A few minutes later, the two were now towering over the Octo Valley. In fact, Callie looked down and saw the Octotrooper Hideout right by her boots. It made her giggle seeing it so tiny from her perspective.
"Teehee… look how teeny tiny the hideout is! I wonder what Grandpa would think!" Callie said. Marie kneeled down and peeked inside the windows of the hideout trying to find any sign of Cap'n Cuttlefish.
"Hmmm… I don't think he's home. He's probably gone shopping in the plaza." Marie said as she stood back up.
"Oh well. I know he'll be quite pleased to see how much we've grown up!" Callie said. Suddenly, the two heard a familiar laughter coming from ground level.
"Huh? Wait a minute, Marie… is that who I think it is laughing?" Callie asked. Marie looked down not far from the hideout where she saw none other than DJ Octavio laughing from inside his snow globe.
"Yep. It's DJ Octavio." Marie said as she and Callie both kneeled down and looked at the villain, who was rubbing a few of his arms together.
"Hahaha! I'll be a Jolly Roger! I didn't think you two would find the grey ink first!" DJ Octavio said.
"Huh? You mean it was you who released the grey ink?" Marie said.
"That's right, ladies. It was my backup plan in case my original plans failed, which they did indeed. The ink was designed to seep deep into the body of whoever touched it, and it would cause their molecules to expand, hence why you two have grown so big." DJ Octavio said.
"Wow… for an evil villain that may be the coolest plot I've ever heard devised!" Callie said.
"Callie, don't compliment him!" Marie said.
"Awwww… come on, Marie, don't you think this is awesome?" Callie asked.
"Yes! I think it's awesome too. You two are playing right into my plans. You cannot resist the urge to display your increased power that goes with your increased size. Just by walking around, you bring despair and destruction with each and every step. All I need to do is escape from this snowy prison, and then I will finally be able to rule all of Inkopolis!" DJ Octavio said.
"Now there's the voice of a mad dictator." Callie said.
"Free me, ladies! Use your magnificent strength to relase me from this prison, then unleash your giant fury upon all of Inkopolis! I promise you both will be handsomely rewarded for your good deed." DJ Octavio said.
"Well…" Callie said as she looked over to Marie.

There was a pause for about 6 seconds before the two giantesses looked down at the snow globe and shook their heads.
"Naaaaaaaaah!" Callie and Marie both shouted.
"WHAT!?" DJ Octavio shouted.
"Come on, DJ Octavio. Do you think we'd fall for that trick?" Marie said.
"Yeah! There was a good reason we, Grandpa, and the Inklings locked you up in that snow globe!" Callie said.
"And besides… even if we wanted to, there's no way that snow globe can be broken." Marie said.
"Arrrrgh! Curse you, giant brats!" DJ Octavio said.
"Hey! Watch who you're calling brats, short stuff!" Callie said as she grabbed the top of the snow globe and shook it, rattling DJ Octavio around and making him dizzy for a brief period. Marie opened her mouth wide as she watched Callie have her fun.
"Hey, Callie. I've got an idea. Fancy a game of catch?" Marie asked.
"Catch? But we don't… Oooooooooh…" Callie said, at first confused by what Marie was asking. Then she realized the shape of what DJ Octavio was trapped in and already pictured what Marie had in mind. DJ Octavio also pictured what the giantesses had in mind… and he suddenly had a look of despair on his face.
"Oh no… nononononononoNO!!!" DJ Octavio said, watching as the two stood up and then Callie reached down and grabbed the snow globe.
"Okay, Marie! Go long!" Callie said as she firmly gripped the snow globe in both her gloved hands. Marie did just that, running out into the wide open space that was the grassy field (with all sorts of platforms hovering above her head). Once Callie thought Marie was far enough away, that's when she moved her arm back and then thrust it forward, releasing the globe in the air, much to DJ Octavio's dismay.
"NOOOOOOOO!!!" DJ Octavio screamed as he watched the scenery change rapidly as the snow globe flew through the air. It eventually stopped cold like a cartoon character running into a brick wall as Marie caught the globe in her hands, causing DJ Octavio to bounce around a few times like a pinball inside the globe.
"Woohoo! Nice catch, Marie!" Callie shouted.
"Thanks, cousin! Now it's your turn!" Marie said as she rested the globe up against her hip. Then she moved her hand back and threw the globe in an underhanded motion high into the air.
"I HATE SNOW GLOBES!!!" DJ Octavio randomly shouted, this time out of anger. Eventually the globe fell down from the sky, and Callie was right there to catch the globe straight into her hands like a ball. Still, she didn't look too happy.
"Awwww… come on, Marie. Put some muscle into your throws… like this!" Callie shouted. That's when she nestled the snow globe against one of the giant tentacles coming out of her hair bow. Then she twirled herself in a 360 degree motion, causing the globe to go flying out from the tentacles at seemingly mach speed. It landed squarely against Marie's stomach as she caught it.
"Oooooooof!" Marie said as she stumbled backwards and caught her breath, but she managed to keep her footing unlike back at the warehouse.

A few seconds later, Marie recovered and looked squarely at Callie's golden eyes.
"Oh? So you want some more ooomph, do you? Well, how about this?" Marie said. That's when she put the globe down on the ground. DJ Octavio watched as Marie then took a couple steps backwards. Already he knew where this was going.
"Oh boy… this is going to hurt." DJ Octavio said to himself. Marie stopped backing up once she felt she was far enough back, and then she charged forward. Once she was close enough, she stopped running and then thrust one foot forward, kicking the globe like it was a soccer ball.
"Oh spiiiiiiiii…!!!!" DJ Octavio said before he finally couldn’t take any more punishment and threw up a whole bottle's worth of black ink, covering the entire interior of the globe. This was not lost on Callie as she caught the globe easily into her hands.
"Oops! He spit up black ink. I guess he finally couldn't take it any more." Callie said as she held up the black snow globe for Marie to see.
"Nope, I suppose not." Marie said.
"But I loved the way you kicked that globe! I wanna try!" Callie said as she placed the globe on the ground in front of her boots. She stepped back but not as far back as Marie did, which she tried to point out.
"Ummm… Callie… you're not back far enough." Marie said.
"Relax, Marie! I know what I'm doing!" Callie said. Then she took a couple steps forward and kicked away… only this time the globe went up in the air at a 20-25 degree angle, almost like a punt in American football.
"Oops! That's a sky ball!" Callie said. Both giantesses watched as the globe sailed up and up and up in the air until it finally hit a floating platform and came sailing down.

Marie started running forward just as the globe started coming down from the sky.
"Hurry, Marie!" Callie shouted. Marie felt she wasn't going to make it in time, and so she reached for the spotty green hat on her head and dove forward. Just as she landed on the ground, the globe landed perfectly inside her hat, with the top portion of the globe sticking through due to the hole in the top of her hat. Callie thrust both her arms up in excitement.
"Booyah!!! Great catch, Marie!!" Callie said.
"Thanks. I just hope I didn't ruin my dress with that dive." Marie said as she got up from the ground and brushed the grass and dirt that had accumulated from sliding on the ground.
"Nah, you look fine!" Callie said. She then reached down and picked up the snow globe that was slowly clearing up of black ink while Marie picked up her hat and returned it on top of her head. Finally, enough ink had dried up for the two to see DJ Octavio again, and he was out like a light with imaginary Octolings circling around his head and X's in his eyes.
"Oh dear… he doesn't look so good." Marie said.
"Teeheehee… I don't think anyone would look good if they got tossed around in the air like a ragdoll by two giantesses!" Callie said.
"True." Marie said.
"So what should we do now? It's kinda boring here! I wanna go somewhere where there's a lot of action!" Callie said.
"Well… I hear the Port Mackerel is quite busy around this time of day." Marie said.
"Perfect! Let's embark for Port Mackerel! I know exactly where to go from here even!" Callie said as she triumphantly thrust her arms in the air and walked away with Marie following close behind. Callie then came to a sudden stop.
"Huh? What is it, Callie?" Marie asked.
"You're… you're not going to object, are you?" Callie said.
"Nah, not this time. I hate to admit it, but this whole giantess thing is growing on me." Marie said.
"Hahahaha! Marie made a pun! There's something that's as rare as red ink!" Callie said, with Marie then jabbing her lightly on the shoulder.
"Hey, come on! It puts a whole new perspective on things!" Marie said. Callie then smiled.
"Well, I'm just glad you're enjoying it with me. I couldn't ask for anything better. Now come on! Let's get moving!" Callie said as the two giantesses got to walking again.

At Port Mackerel, there was plenty of activity like Marie hinted at, but it wasn't just from co-workers. Eight different Inklings, six of them boys and two of them girls, were going at it in a Turf War contest, which also doubled as a practice match for the upcoming Splatfest. The four boys on Team VGGTS were colored blue for this match and their names were Cubed, Skull, Goomba, and F7D. Over on Team ACGTS, colored orange, were two girls and two guys. The guys were Lucybones and Fez while the girls were Barbie (as in BiggerBetterBarbie) and Machinasa. While the eight all shared various connections with one another, today they were either teammates or opponents to one another as they fought for their Splatfest team. F7D was celebrating splat rolling Lucybones from the opposing side.
"Jolly good show for Team VGGTS!" F7D said.
"Hey, come on over here!" Skull shouted as he waved his arms for his teammates to come over and help him. On another part of the battlefield, Barbie and Machinasa were taking cover, especially as a Killer Wail was deployed by Team VGGTS.
"Machinasa, give me some cover fire so I can sneak up on my brother!" Barbie said.
"You got it, Bigger Better Barbie!" Machinasa said.
"Ready, go! ^_____^" Barbie shouted as Machinasa put her Splattershot into full rapid fire mode. Barbie transformed into a squid and manuevered her way through the orange ink. Her manuevering was successful as she came up behind Cubed, who was busy shooting at Fez with his N-ZAP '89.
"Gotcha!" Barbie shouted as she rolled her Splat Roller into an unsuspecting Cubed.
"Yeowch!" Cubed shouted as he exploded from the damaging blow caused by Barbie's Splat Roller. Of course, like all other Inklings on the battlefield, he would regenerate at home base and do a Squid Jump to quickly get back into battle.

Eventually, though, the battle came to a screeching halt as the ground shook every second, accompanied by thundering booms in the sky. It was enough to get Team VGGTS and Team ACGTS to stop fighting each other for the moment.
"Whoa… what's that… shaking!?" Goomba said.
"They're not moving any of these crates, are they?" F7D said.
"Oh my… look!" Machinasa said as she pointed up at the sky. All eight Inklings looked to see the two giantesses, Callie and Marie, fast approaching.
"Wow! I knew the Squid Sisters were big, but this is taking it to the next level!" Cubed said.
"Awwww man… if only I had my smart phone with me!" Fez commented. Callie and Marie, meanwhile, looked around at the numerous objects that stood in their path.
"Wow… look at all the stuff around Port Mackerel. No wonder they call it the shipping capital of Inkopolis!" Callie said.
"Yeah. It'll be neat smashing up all these shipping containers. I wonder how easily they can be destroyed at this size." Marie said.
"Oh, look, Marie! Are those little Inklings!?" Callie shouted. Marie looked down by her boots and got her first look, after Callie did so, of the few Inklings gathered around.
"Why yes they are!" Marie said.
"Awwww… they look so cute when they're teeny tiny! I say we squash them like little bugs!" Callie said.
"Are you sure we should be doing that? I mean… they can survive being splattered from head to toe, but what about getting physically crushed?" Marie said.
"I suppose we could find out right now!" Callie said. Both giantesses then raised one leg each up in the air.
"Every Inkling for itself!" Cubed shouted as the Inklings scrambled out of the way, whether by foot or by turning into squids and swimming through the ink they left behind. Callie and Marie both missed with their stomps.
"Oooooh… missed! They sure are quick!" Callie said.
"True, but they can't get far. Let's split up and cover more ground. We can destroy these containers while we're playing around with the Inklings." Marie said.
"You got it, cousin!" Callie said as she went to the west and Marie made her way to the east. Marie shook her head along the way. Something was telling her this was not the way she should be acting, but she pressed on anyway.

For the Inklings, it was one close call after another. Barbie was looking back trying to see if she lost both of the giantesses. She looked back and saw Callie, but didn't see Marie. But then she saw a big shadow form where she was standing. She looked up to see if there was any cloud cover, but instead she saw the green-colored bottom of Marie's boot coming in fast.
"Eeeeeeeeeek!" Barbie shouted. She dove out of the way, just barely avoiding getting stomped by the giantess. Barbie then looked to see Machinasa not too far away, shooting a trail of orange ink in front of Barbie.
"Hurry, Barbie! This way!" Machinasa shouted. Barbie transformed into a squid and swam through the ink into hiding with her fellow Inkling Girl. Marie, meanwhile, looked around wondering where Barbie went.
"Oh? I know I didn't crush her… she probably escaped with the help of the orange ink. Oh well. I can't worry about her right now. As for these shipping containers…" Marie said. She looked down at one of them and gave it a swift kick with one of her boots. The container didn't move, but a big hole was left where Marie kicked. As the giantess moved onto another container, Barbie and Machinasa peeked out and watched the destruction play out.
"Wow… she looks so much bigger up close." Barbie said. She then looked over at Machinasa and saw her staring at the black shorts that were above Marie's green tights and underneath her dress.
"Ahhhhhh… such beautiful and pristine underwear! I wish I could have a dress and shorts that big…" Machinasa said.
"Ummm… I don't think now is a good time for clothes admiring, Machinasa. ^_____^" Barbie said.

Meanwhile, the other Inklings were doing their best to evade whatever Callie threw their way. Almost literally at times, as Callie picked up a container that was small enough to fit in her hand and threw it into an empty space, trying to keep a couple Inklings from escaping.
"Teeheehee! There, you can't escape from here now! Now come here so I can lick you like a lollipop!" Callie said.
"Uh oh… what do we do now?" Goomba said as he looked over at Lucybones.
"Ummmm… like Cubed said, every Inkling for himself!" Lucybones said as he suddenly shot Goomba from head to toe in orange ink.
"HEY…!" Goomba shouted before he exploded in defeat. As Callie reached down to try and grab Lucybones with her gloved hand, he quickly shot orange ink up at the glove, which Callie didn't like as she moved her hand back up.
"Hey, come on! Not the glove! I paid like 500 truckloads worth of coins for these gloves!" Callie shouted. She looked down trying to find Lucybones, only to find him nowhere in sight. Little did the giantess know that Lucybones was running between her boots and looking up at the two towering walls that were her pink tights.
"*huff puff huff puff* I'm sure glad this isn't Lazy Lucy or Minnie Mouse I'm trying to look at." Lucybones said as he kept running as fast as he could hoping Callie wouldn't spot him.

Goomba, meanwhile, regenerated at the home base of Team VGGTS, and was quite furious at being blindsided by Lucybones.
"Arrrrrgh! How rude of Lucybones! This is just going to fire me up more for Team VGGTS tonight when the Splatfest begins! Well… if it begins. They may cancel it given these giantess attacks…" Goomba said. He then pulled out a gadget that nearly every Inkling in battle uses. It was a tablet like device with a U logo on the lower left. He accessed the map on this device to find out where all the other Inklings were, and he noticed one blue spot right near where Callie was walking around.
"Oh no! One of my teammates is too close! I better get in there and help out!" Goomba shouted. He tapped the blue dot on the screen, and that's when he rocketed high up in the air due to the fact he was making a Squid Jump to quickly get to that location on the map.
Unfortunately, Goomba didn't account for Callie walking in the spot he was rocketing to. Even worse, because she was letting out a yawn and stretching her arms, her mouth was wide open… and Goomba was heading right for it.
"Oh noooooooooooo!!!" Goomba shouted as he went flying straight into Callie's open mouth. He reached out and grabbed the one thing that could save him from falling into the dark pit that was her stomach… her uvula. It quickly got dark inside as Callie closed her mouth once again, unaware that Goomba was hanging on for dear life inside her mouth.
"Hmmmm… that was a big yawn. But there's no way I'm getting tired now! There's still a lot of this giantess act still to put on!" Callie said as she got back to casually walking around the port, looking for any Inklings and messing with any shipping containers that she bumped her boots against. A couple of the Team VGGTS Inklings like Cubed and Skull did open fire on Callie's magenta tights, and she definitely felt it.
"Teehee! That kinda tickles!" Callie said as she chased after the two Inkling Boys.

Goomba knew he couldn't stay perched on Callie's uvula for long. He had to think fast in finding a way out, and once he looked at his Splattershot, that's when he got his idea.
"Please forgive me, giant Callie, but it's my only ticket out of here!" Goomba said as he started shooting blue ink in almost every direction. The ink landed almost everywhere inside Callie's mouth, including on her teeth.
As Callie kept on walking around, she suddenly had to stop when she felt her mouth filling up with a type of liquid. Little did she realize that it was the blue ink that Goomba was shooting everywhere. Finally, Callie had to spit out the blue ink before too much of it contaminated her mouth.
"Ach-tooey!!! Pew! Pew! Pew!" Callie said as she spit out the blue ink towards the ground. Eventually she spit out Goomba himself. He went diving for the ground before finally landing safely in the blue ink that Callie had already spit out. Despite being in his own ink, Goomba could definitely feel the saliva that was inside Callie's mouth.
"Ugh… I'm probably going to need 10 showers to rinse off where I've just been." Goomba said.
"Whoa! How did I almost swallow you, little Inkling? You're very brave!" Callie said as she looked down on Goomba with her hands on her hips.
"Um… thanks?" Goomba said.
"But still… that's not going to stop me from trying to step on you! Teeheehee!" Callie said as she raised one of her boots up in the air. Goomba looked up at the magenta colored bottom of said boot and fired a trail of ink in the opposite direction with his Splattershot.
"Not on my watch!" Goomba said as he transformed into a squid and escaped in the ink, just as Callie stomped down where the tiny Inkling once stood.

Just as Callie lamented Goomba escaping, she looked and saw Marie approaching.
"Hi, Marie! Having fun?" Callie said. Marie then had a confused look on her face.
"Well, yes, but…" Marie said.
"What is it, Marie?" Callie asked.
"Weren't we always the same height, Callie?" Marie said. That's when Callie caught it herself. It looked like she was now a couple inches shorter than her cousin, as she had to look ever so slightly up to look at her golden eyes.
"Whoa! You're right! You didn't grow bigger, did you?" Callie asked.
"I don't think so. I feel like I'm the same size I've been for the past couple hours… or however long it's been since we grew." Marie said.
"Hmmmm… well, let's not worry about it now! We still have a lot of ground to cover here at this port!" Callie said.
"You're right. Why don't we finish this place up together?" Marie said.
"I thought you'd never ask!" Callie said as the two giantesses got back to stomping around the port like a kid (not a squid!) stomping around the sandbox in a playground.

The eight Inkling Boys and Girls finally got back together and watched from a short distance as the two giantesses continued with their rampage.
"I can't believe this is happening! Callie and Marie are pop idols! They're not supposed to be destroying this place." Cubed said.
"I agree! They just sung here last week!" Skull said.
"I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise. Such great size shouldn't go to waste, especially given how rare an occurance like this happens." F7D said.
"I agree with F7D. I know I'd want to go rampage-y if I were that tall. ^_____^" Barbie said.
"I couldn't agree with you more, Barbie! That'd be so much fun!" Machinasa said. Just then, there was a familiar voice behind all the Inklings.
"Everyone, over here!" the old male voice said. They all looked to see it belonged to…
"Cap'n Cuttlefish!" Fez shouted.
"Quickly, everyone! Let's retreat before my granddaughters spot us!" Cuttlefish said. They all realized he was standing over a manhole that served as a shortcut between the port and Inkopolis Plaza.
"Last one in is squished calamari!" Cubed said as he ran for the manhole, transforming into a squid and following the captain inside. The other seven Inklings followed suit without hesitation.

Eventually everyone jumped out of the manhole and were back at Inkopolis Plaza, where many people were staring the jumbo television screens and watching the live footage of Callie and Marie rampaging around Port Mackerel. Panic started to creep in, however, when they heard the next words to come out of the giantesses.
"Wow! This has been so much fun, Marie! Where do you suppose we should rampage next?" Callie asked.
"I suppose we could finally tackle Inkopolis Plaza." Marie said.
"Oooooooh! That'll be so awesome! Maybe we can climb up the tower itself too!" Callie said.
"Well, we can try, even though we're almost as tall as the tower anyway." Marie said.
"Great! Just as soon as I finish crushing these containers." Callie said. The giantesses got back to work crushing the last of the shipping containers, while the Inklings all murmured over what was going to happen once Callie and Marie returned to Inkopolis Plaza. Given their sudden desire to destroy wherever they towered over, they suddenly were not looking forward to their gigantic return, including the eight Inklings that escaped certain death from the two.
"Oh dear! There's gotta be some way to shrink the two back to normal size." Barbie said.
"Fortunately, my dear, there is." Cuttlefish said.
"Oh? How do we do that?" Cubed asked. That's when Cuttlefish turned to the left and whistled loudly. A few seconds later, in came another Inkling Boy (one with green hair) as he wheeled in a chalkboard with an elaborate drawing on it.

"I'd like you all to meet Link, an intelligent Inkling Boy who can read things deeply and come up with a perfect answer!" Cuttlefish said.
"That's true. I'm also host websites and forums and such if anyone wants…" Link said.
"Um… Link, time is of the essence, especially since my granddaughters will soon be coming here! Tell me what you discovered." Cuttlefish said.
"Oh, yes, sorry. Anyway, I was watching you Inklings on TV escape from certain doom at their hands, feet, mouth, whatever, and I came to an important discovery." Link said.
"Yes?" all eight Inklings said.
"The girls grew by splashing themselves in that puddle of grey ink they reported on this morning. Even though you can no longer see the ink, it is still permeated throughout their bodies, clothes included of course. When Callie was bombarded at her legs and inside her mouth with the blue ink from the boys of Team VGGTS, it actually washed off the grey ink, much like how Inkling ink washed off Octoling ink, and by washing off the grey ink…" Link said.
"I get it! By washing off the grey ink with our own ink, it will cause the girls to shrink back to normal." Cubed said.
"Exacto! Wow… we make a great team." Link said.
"Yes, you're both right, but there is one significant caveat." Cuttlefish said.
"Yes, yes?" all eight Inklings said.
"Given how big the girls are… they're going to need to be covered from head to toe in Inkling ink in order for them to shrink all the way back to normal." Cuttlefish said.
"Oh my… anyone got a super duper sized Splattershot?" Machinasa asked.
"I don't think Ammo Knights sells anything that big! He's probably not even legally allowed!" Lucybones shouted. Cubed then snapped his fingers.
"Wait, guys! I got an idea… but it's going to take total teamwork instead of us competing against each other." Cubed said.
"Spit it out, big brother! What's the plan?" Barbie said.
"What else? We hold a long Splatfest match on both Callie and Marie! We get them to cooperate, like maybe… say… lay them flat on the ground, while the eight of us do our thing and splat it out. In the process, we cover their bodies from head to toe with ink, and back to normal they'll be!" Cubed said.
"Are you crazy!? Didn't you see how I almost got digested by Callie?" Goomba said.
"And don't forget how Barbie and I almost got smushed flat by Marie!" Skull said.
"Cubed is right, young 'uns. This may be the best shot we have of shrinking them back to normal. Besides… if I accompany you, they will listen to reason." Cuttlefish said.

Just then, the group heard loud booming sounds and also could feel the ground shaking every second.
"Here they come!" Skull said.
"The time for debating is over! Quick, Link, fetch me a megaphone!" Cuttlefish said.
"Aye aye, captain!" Link said as he ran off and took the chalkboard with him. As numerous other Inklings took off running to find cover, everyone else looked up in the sky and saw the giantesses Callie & Marie fast approaching.
"Teeheehee! Hello again, everyone! We're baaaaaaaack!" Callie said.
"Indeed, and this time we're taking our giant fun and games here. Our apologies… we just can't help ourselves." Marie said.
"She's right. So until next time..." Callie said.
"Staaaay fresh!!!" both giantesses shouted as they did their pose once more. Before they could take another step, however…

"Callie! Marie!" Cuttlefish shouted into the megaphone.
"Whoa… wait, Callie! That sounded like Grandpa." Marie said.
"Yeah! But where is he? He didn't grow like we did, did he? That'd be kinda weird, to be honest…" Callie said.
"Don't be silly, Callie! I'm down here!" Cuttlefish shouted. Finally the two ladies looked down and saw not only Cap'n Cuttlefish, but also the eight Inklings they were chasing around Port Mackerel.
"Oh! Hi, Grandpa! What do you think of how big we've grown? Isn't this awesome!?" Callie said.
"Where did you get that megaphone?" Marie asked.
"Never mind that! We've figured out a way to shrink you two back to normal." Cuttlefish said.
"Oh, really?" Marie said.
"Yes! We discovered that Inkling ink washes off the grey ink that caused you two to grow in the first place." Cuttlefish said. Marie quickly pointed over at Callie.
"That would explain why you're suddenly a few inches shorter than me." Marie said.
"Yeah, you're right! I gotta admit, that's REALLY bugging me that you're even just a tiny bit taller than me." Callie said.
"Anyway, girls. We figured that by covering your entire bodies in Inkling ink, it will completely evaporate the grey ink and return you both to normal." Cuttlefish said.
"I see… but how can you cover our entire bodies in such a short time?" Callie asked.
"Easy! These Inklings will have a Turf War battle on both of you! They will lay down some ink for your backsides, and then the two of you will lay flat on your backs while they do the rest!" Cuttlefish said.
"Sounds like a plan, Grandpa. Let's go for it!" Marie said.
"Awwww… do we really have to, Marie? I was really loving being this big!" Callie said, but Marie firmly shook her head, almost as if she was coming back to her senses too.
"Callie, I've been having fun too but we can't stay this big forever. Think of all the panic we've caused just by walking around. How would we perform our concerts and host the Splatfests being this big? And more importantly… we'd probably consume Inkopolis's entire food supply. It would satisfy our hunger, but then cause all the Inklings to starve because they can't find any food and…" Marie said.
"Okay okay okay, cousin! You've made your points. You're right… we needed to return to normal eventually!" Callie said.
"Great! Come on, Inklings, we haven't another moment to spare!" Cuttlefish said as the Inklings got to work spraying orange and blue ink all over as much of Inkopolis as they could. Some other Inklings who were not scared to run away offered to pitch in and help out too, shooting different colors (aside from green or pink) of ink where the giantesses would eventually lay. Also being set up were respawn points for any Inklings that got splattered to oblivion.

Finally, enough ink was laid down. Callie and Marie very carefully laid down flat on their backs in the plaza, although Callie couldn't help but kick a small hole in the Shrimp Kicks store. Crusty Sean came running out as Callie looked past her boots at him.
"Whoops! Sorry, Crusty Sean!" Callie said.
"Awwww… think nothing of it! Man, if I could sell boots that big, I'd make a million fortunes!" Crusty Sean shouted before he ran back inside his shop to keep from getting crushed by Marie's boots. Finally, the giantesses were flat on their backs, and they could already feel the ink nestling against their backsides.
"Oooooh… that kinda tickles!" Callie said as she fidgeted around a bit.
"Alright, perfect! Now, no matter what, my dear granddaughters… DON'T MOVE!!!" Cuttlefish shouted.
"Understood, Grandpa." Marie said.
"Ummm… can't we at least sing a song or two while the battles are going on?" Callie said.
"Of course, Callie. Sing whatever you and Marie want!" Cuttlefish said.
"Okay… I've never really done a song laying flat on my back and being completely motionless too…" Callie said.
"You'll do fine, cousin. Just think of it as a new experience, just like being gigantic." Marie said as she winked an eye over at Callie.
"You're right! Thanks, Marie! I don't know what I'd do without your level head." Callie said as she winked back. Suddenly, Judd came running alongside the captain.
"Here I am, Cap'n! Ready to referee this special match you told me about!" Judd said.
"Thank you, Judd. Inklings, are you ready!? You'll work on Callie first, and then switch to Marie on our signal." Cuttlefish said. All eight Inklings, the four blue-colored ones from Team VGGTS and the four orange-colored ones from Team ACGTS, all loaded up their weapons of choice and put their game faces on.
"Ready… GO!!!" Judd shouted. Without hesitation, Team VGGTS made their way onto Callie's tights while Team ACGTS started above her chest.

For the next 5 minutes, the giant Callie went from squeaky clean to being covered almost entirely in a mix of orange and blue ink thanks to the Turf War battle that was going on between the two teams. Despite the mess her skin and clothes were being exposed to, she concentrated on barely moving so that the Inklings could do their job. The only things that were moving were her head and her boots as she bobbed them up and down in rhythm with the song she was singing, which incidentally was her platinum selling solo (Bomb Rush Blush), Skull couldn't help but wonder how the match was going.
"Hey, Judd! How are we doing!?" Skull shouted.
"You know I cannot reveal the results, early, and besides… this is not about winning or losing!" Judd shouted.
"Judd is right! This Turf War is for the sole purpose of shrinking my granddaughters back to normal size!" Cuttlefish said. Skull then got pulverized with orange ink.
"Yeowch!!!" Skull shouted before exploding.
"Yes! Score one for Team ACGTS! No offense, Skull…" Fez commented as he got to shooting as much of Callie's black dress as he could.

Cap'n Cuttlefish then felt Callie, still singing to her heart's desire, was covered in enough ink and ordered the Inklings to move on to Marie.
"Alright! Switch, switch, switch, switch!!!" Cuttlefish said as Judd blew his whistle loudly. The Inklings did just that as they made their way over to Marie's gigantic body. The two giantesses continued to belt out one tune after another despite laying down and not being able to move. Songs such as Ink Me Up, Calamari Inkantation, and even Marie's solo, Tide Goes Out, came out loudly from the girls like their tunes were coming out of a loudspeaker, but that was natural given how big the two were.

Another few minutes later, Marie was covered in just as much ink as Callie… although Marie turned her head and saw the ink slowly disappearing not just from Callie's skin and clothes, but also her own.
"Oh? What's happening to the ink?" Marie said.
"I don't know… I guess it's absorbing the grey ink." Callie said.
"I sure hope this works… I can't stay flat on my back for much longer." Marie said.
"I agree! I am sooooooo getting the urge to stomp on something like those old giant monster movies!" Callie said. Just then, the girls felt their bodies tingling.
"Oooooh… there's that tingling again!" Callie shouted.
"You're right… what could it mean?" Marie said. Cap'n Cuttlefish and Judd knew what it meant as they were the first to notice.
"Look, they're shrinking!" Cuttlefish shouted.
"Yes! It looks like your plan worked, Cap'n." Judd said.
"We better get the Inklings off my granddaughters." Cuttlefish said. Judd loudly blew his whistle.
"GAME! GAME! GAME!!!" Judd loudly shouted. The Inklings immediately stopped shooting at each other, and then they looked down at Marie's green tights and quickly got the hint on what was happening.
"Oh, look! Marie is shrinking back to normal!" Machinasa said, pointing over how Marie's legs weren't as big as before.
"Yeah, and taking the ink along with it! Now we won't know who won!" F7D said.
"Never mind! Let's abandon giantess!" Cubed said as the Inklings all jumped off and ran away from the shrinking giantesses, rejoining Cap'n Cuttlefish and Judd.

A couple minutes later, Marie and Callie were not only clear of all orange and blue ink left behind by Team VGGTS and Team ACGTS, but they were back to normal size.
"Oh, happy days!" Cuttlefish said as he ran towards his granddaughters. Callie and Marie stood back up and saw their Grandpa running towards them.
"Grandpa!" Callie and Marie both shouted. The three all hugged each other tightly.
"Whew! I never thought I'd be so happy to hug you, Grandpa." Marie said.
"Me too!" Callie said.
"Well, you can thank not only myself for the genius plan to get you two back to normal, but also these Inklings. They risked their lives to put it in motion." Cuttlefish said as he pointed over at the nine Inklings, which now included Link.
"Well… everyone except me. I figured the whole grey ink vs. Inkling ink thing out and stayed by the wayside. But I definitely would've put up a good fight! Honest!" Link said as the other Inklings laughed.
"Say… um… Grandpa… did we do anything wrong while we were supersized?" Callie said.
"Yeah. I feel like I was starting to lose control of my senses. Another hour and I would've completely gone out of control and stomped whatever was in my way." Marie said.
"Haha, yeah! Me too… although I would've eaten some tiny creatures on top of all that. I think I almost did too." Callie said as she turned around and spit out the last of the blue ink that Goomba left behind while he was trapped in her mouth. Goomba just whistled innocently as he checked how much ink was left in his weapon.
"Oh, it was nothing serious, girls. Whatever happened happened and can be easily repaired." Cuttlefish said. Callie and Marie then looked over at the Inklings.
"Thank you, Inklings, for helping us." Marie said.
"Yeah, totally! We'll make sure you get free tickets to our next concert!" Callie said. All 9 Inklings cheered loudly, although Marie just hung her head down.
"Our manager's gonna throw a fit again…" Marie said.
"Oh, don't be silly, Marie! He probably ran out of town when we started walking around Inkopolis!" Callie said.

Marie then realized something important.
"You know, that grey ink is definitely a hazard to everyone. We need to make arrangements to have it completely washed away from everywhere in Inkopolis so something like this doesn't happen again." Marie said.
"I'm already ahead of you, young lady. I'll arrange Turf War battles in EVERY arena right away. We'll have the rest of that grey ink washed out, wherever it is, in no time!" Judd said.
"Thank you as always for your support, Judd." Cuttlefish said.
"Oh! Marie… we better get to rehearsing our big songs for the start of tonight's Splatfest!" Callie said. Marie looked up at the clock near the center of the plaza.
"You're right! We've only got three hours left!" Marie said. The two girls turned around to run back to the television studio where they usually practice, although they came to a stop and took one more look at the Inklings.
"Well, until next time…" Callie said.
"Staaaay fresh!!!" they both shouted in their signature poses before they turned around and left the scene.

Hours later, with every possible arena in Inkopolis cleared of all grey ink, Callie and Marie are singing the night away as a digital clock on one of the jumbo screens counts down to the beginning of the Splatfest between Team VGGTS and Team ACGTS. It was truly a festive night for everyone involved. It made almost everyone forget that earlier that day, Callie and Marie were a couple hundred feet tall and stomping around the land with nary a care in the world for public safety. Finally, the clock hit zero, and Callie and Marie, from their stage, wished all the Inklings luck as the first two arenas were open for Splatfest battling, Urchin Underpass and the Kelp Dome. Callie and Marie of course stayed behind and continued to entertain the Inklings that were rooting for their respective sides.

Meanwhile, unknown to everyone at Walleye Warehouse, there was one moderately sized droplet of grey ink still on the ground, sitting by its lonesome as what was left of DJ Octavio's secret plan. But it wouldn't be alone for long. A shadowy figure reached down and scooped up the grey ink with a spoon, dropping it into an open jar that automatically sealed. The figure was actually an Octoling Girl as she pulled out a PDA with her other hand and turned it on, the light from the device's screen shining in the girl's face.
"This is Agent Red. I've secured the last of the grey ink. We are a go for Plan Beta." the Octoling Girl said.
"Good work, Agent Red. Return to base immediately." a robotic voice said on the other end. As the PDA shut off, the Octoling Girl looked at the jar one more time before stowing it away.
"Have patience, DJ Octavio. Once Plan Beta is executed, you will be free and Inkopolis will be crushed underneath our boots." the Octoling Girl said before she quietly made her way out of the arena before anyone could spot her.
