Darkling Chronicles from Koholint

(Dark Lord Ebemon)

The distance noise of waves could be heard, and the faint call of a seagull. Marin's eyes opened, she was still snuggly tucked in her sheets, and the sunlight was barely peeking through her window. She blinked a few times, managing to fend off the sleep that was weighing down her eyelids, and then slowly sat up. She got up, wincing slightly as her feet touched the cold wood floor, and then walked over to her dresser, taking out her favorite blue dress. "Today feels like it's going to be a good day." she said to herself as she changed, then brushed the tangles out of her silky red hair. Tarin's voice blarred up from another room.

"Marin, I'm going out to pick mushrooms, Link's already out on some adventure, you be careful." she rolled her eyes, Tarin was getting into trouble a lot more then she was, but the intent was good.

"Alright Tarin, I will!" she said, and she heard the door closing as he was out. She strapped her tanned leather sandals on and carefully put a red flower bloom from outside the window into her hair, she smiled to herself and whispered, "I hope Link feels the same way...".

Duane walked through the blackened hallways of stone, it was his first day on the job as assistant to the Dark Lord, and he was a bit nervous as to just how evil this guy was going to be. There were many different kinds, the posers who liked the idea of being sadistic, the pure evil ones who wanted power and domination, and the ones who were just completely crazy. As he exited the hallway, he came into a room wallpapered in...fuzzy bunnies holding explosives. "Are you the help?" the voice was somewhat electronic sounding, and as he narrowed his eyes he saw what appeared to be a cyborg right out of roswell, he figured it must be the boss, as there was no room beyond this one, and he had already been checked out by the assortment of Dragon Quest 2 monsters.

"Yeah, I'm Duane, the new assistant...um, what's with the wallpaper?" the cyborg lifted its squid like head and looked about the area.

"Well, I think its cute, don't you?" as he spoke, a little television screen popped up on his shoulder and displayed a face making a huge grin, this guy was definately the crazy type.

"Um, yeah, I guess, so, Ebemon right?" the cyborg nodded. "You said you were already in the middle of a plot, what is it?".

"Well I've almost finished, you see, I want to take over the dream island of Koholint before that Link character manages to wake the windfish and destroy it, and I have the perfect way to make it defenseless!"

"Oh really? What are you going to do?" Duane was already having unpleasent images of spaceships massacreing animal village, with dead rabbit heads straight off of Doom.

"That's the great thing! I've created this rod that sends off a massive energy field! The field targets the y chromosone and causes a genetic mutation, shrinking the lifeform! Plantlife doesn't seem affected however..."

"So your going to shrink all the men? What about the women?"

"What about them? Theres like, 4 of them, none of which are warriors, I suppose some of the rabbits might be girls but really I don't think its a problem" Duane watched as he prepared to send off the field.

"So like, whats stopping it from shrinking all of us?" he asked as Ebemon flipped the switch. "You've got something to nullify the affect right?" Ebemon stopped a moment, looked at the switch, then at the ground.

"I always forget something..." Duane gave a look of horror as the machine kicked in.

Link was coming back from a hard days work, he had vanquished the evil Slime Eyes, and had been told to search for the key to the Angler Tunnel in Yarna Desert. But the only way to get there was with Marin's help, he knew he could count on her though, she had been so sweet and kind to him since they had met. Suddenly, he saw a flash of light, he covered his eyes, and felt an odd, relaxing sensation sweep over his entire body, he shook it off, and when he opened his eyes, saw a vast desert sprawing out before him! Where before there had just been the beach! He startled back in a panic, something was definately wrong! As he ran through, there was nothing familiar, he eventually reached a huge fallen tree, and rested under its shade. He looked down, the sand was different, it was more like hundreds of rocks than tiny grains. He looked up the tree and made a startling discovery. It was a log, not a tree, and Marin was sitting on it!

He could see the entire backside of her body, with her beautiful sky blue dress blowing lightly in the breeze, the yellow trim shining along with the bright sun, and her long red hair, cascading down her back and flapping in the breeze with her dress. She slowly stood up, the ground beneath him shuddering slightly as she took a step, Link started to run the other way, feeling the ground shudder and seeing rock-like grains of sand fly everywhere, his shield was the only way to save himself from being stoned. The thumps were getting louder, despite the fact he was running with all he had, he turned around, fearing the worst, and saw her massive foot, neatly laced up in her sandal, lift off of the ground, grains of sand raining down from it. He fell back in horror, realizing he couldn't move away in time as the sole of the sandal blocked his vision. He quickly took out his trusted shield and blocked himself with it, and immedietly felt massive weight, even more powerful then King Helmaroc, pound down on him. The shield immedietely started bending at the sides and cracking apart, a second more and he'd be completely crushed!

Just then, he heard a Marin make a confused "Eh?" noise, and felt the weight lift off of him. "Ooooh! It's a grasshopper! I'm sorry mister grasshopper! You shouldn't be at the beach, tee hee, I'm glad your still okay." Marin smiled and then stepped over him, the wind of her foot rushing past, knocking him on his back. Link got up slowly, he was okay, but his shield was trashed and he didn't know what was going on.

"I've got to find a way back to normal, what if a monster found me this way...?" he shuddered at the thought. He quickly sped off in the direction Marin was gone, and suddenly found himself confronted by Moblins, but they were only his size, sighing with relief, Link cut through them with one rapid Kaiten Giri manuever.

Marin was confused, everyone seemed to be gone, Madam Meow Meow, and one of her dogs seemed to be the only ones left in the village. "Heeeeeeelp! My children!! Where are my five boys?!" she heard the mother of the children shrieking, well, at least she was there. Marin entered her house, wondering if Tarin was there, he had been in bed because of some nasty bee stings. As she looked about the house, it was completely empty, yet undisturbed, even the blankets were in the position they had been in when she had left Tarin in bed. It was somewhat frightening, she sat down on the bed to think about it.

"Mrm...Mushrooms..." Tarin had been woken up by a sudden shaking sensation, as he opened his eyes, he saw nothing but white fluff. Very confused, he tried to get his way out of it. "What in tarnation is this stuff?" He shoved his way through it till his head poked into fresh air, but what he saw sent a shock of horror up his body. It was his house, but a hundred times larger! As he looked about, he suddenly saw a massive hand next to him, he slowly looked up, nearly wetting himself as he saw Marin, many times his size. "Marin! How did you get so huge?!"

"Huh? What was that noise?" Marin turned slightly, and listened closely, there was a moment where she thought she could hear a tiny cry, but then it was gone, it was all getting too weird for her.

Tarin cried out as she turned around, her huge voice booming "HUH? WHAT WAS THAT NOISE?" he tried to turn as her massive hand moved over him, but as he was eclipsed by its shadow he knew it was too late, he felt it pound onto him, nearly crushing him on the spot, if it hadn't been for the soft bed mattress, he would have been ground to bits. It pressed an instant more, he had lost all breath, and was starting to get dizzy, but then it lifted off. He was too drained to turn around and see what had happened, but he heard Marins booming footsteps head towards the door, the creak of the door opening, and then it slammed shut. He sighed in relief, then passed out on the bed.

Link had almost made it to the Library, his legs were aching from walking across the sand, hard and rocklike as it was to him now. Suddenly he heard an odd noise, he turned around to see a gigantic metal ship in the air, it slowly landed and a door opened. Link prepared himself for whatever might be in there, knowing that at his size he couldn't possibly fend it off, but was then pleasently surprised to see a group of creatures as small as him getting out. It seemed ridiculous, since the door was normal sized, but there they were, 14 men who looked similar to the Koholint people, normal looking except for the strange rounded ears, and what seemed to be a humanoid octopus made entirely of metal. The robotic being spoke up, "Ok ok, so how was I supposed to know it would shrink us too? Besides, at least 12 was around to fly the ship, she got us here ok right?" The man directly next to the creature responded.

"Your insane! We could've taken the whole place with your ship! I don't care if Link was here, Link is not unstoppable!" Link had peiced together that it was this group that had gotten him shrunk, and that they were obviously intending something evil if they wanted him out of the way, he drew his sword and rushed forward. "Ebemon! There he is! Links coming at us!" Duane shouted as Link streamlined through.

"Oh crud...14, handle him will you? We've got to go find a way to deal with the gals at their current size." with those words, a huge man (well, huge compared to Link or any of the others) stepped forward, cracking his knuckles and smiling with two black, totally empty eyes. Link threw a bomb at him, but he merely rushed to the side and sent his fist heading straight towards Links face. Link drew his shield, remembering too late that Marin had turned it into a peice of scrap metal. 14's fist blasted straight through it, knocking Link back into a stone. Link's eyes dialated as he struggled to get up, 14 already rushing straight at him, suddenly Link remembered his pegasus boots, with an amazing burst of speed, Link rushed into 14 with his sword, stabbing the brute and causing him to fall unconcious to the ground. Link breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly, he saw him getting back up. Link leapt back with his Roc feather as 14 sent down a kick, breaking the ground apart where it hit.

Marin held her breath a moment, Link was nowhere to be found, and all the other men were gone. The only place Tarin would have went would be the woods of mystery, but it was dangerous in there. Still, she had to find them, and she would go there if she had to. As she entered, the woods seemed eerily quiet, lacking the normal snorts from angry Moblins, or slurping noises of Zols. After searching for about two hours, she began to give up hope, and sat down near a spring. Kicking off her sandals, Marin dipped her feet into the water, contemplating where else they could be. As she sat down, she felt something prick her hand, she lifted up to see a tiny splinter in it. As she squinted her eyes, she noticed that it was an extremely small spear. She looked down curiously, and was shocked to see a group of bug sized moblins, throwing their weaponry at her.

Galmork tossed his javelin with a mighty heave. He didn't know why his entire unit had shrunk, but now this girl was here, wandering about the forest, he'd make her talk. As they readied another volley, she stood up, some of the smarter moblins ducked behind rocks as they reloaded. For those who didn't, they could only try to shrink back as Marin lifted a still-wet foot, dripping down water among their ranks, that proceeded to come down hard, their tiny cries silenced by a earth shaking WHUMP. Her gargantuan toes wiggled slightly, the Moblins who had managed to be between them and survive the impact were now gripped and crushed into a burbling ooze that dripped down into the puddle that had collected around her sole.

"Stupid Moblins, I've been afraid of you too long! Now you'll know how we feel!" Marin felt a bit of a rush of power as she flicked one of the Moblins with the tip of her finger, causing him to fly off into the distance and land unmoving to the ground. Galmork stood his ground, breathed hard a moment, then launched a volley of flaming arrows. They landed in her delicate blue dress, but were merely extinguished as if they were sparks. He felt her soft hand curl around him, feeling himself sink into the skin of her palm as if it were a mattress cushion. He looked up, quivering slightly, she looked VERY ticked off. He tried to cry out, but it died in his throat. "And as for you...goodbye!" Marin tossed him as hard as she could into the air, he whistled through the sky, the wind nipping at his skin from the sheer speed, then he lay suspended for but a second, all seemed at peace. But soon he plummetted back down, his cheeks pulling back, as he crashed into the ground. He breathed hard, every part of him felt as if it had been cracked. He managed with all his strength to roll over, only to see the girl looking triumphantly above him. She then lifted her right foot, slamming the heel into his stomach, his hoarse shout not even audible to her. She ground it to the side, ending his role as King of Moblins.

Link had his hands full, without his shield there wasn't a moments reprieve from his silent attackers onslaught. He glanced about, subconciously ducking a right hook as he sized up his situation. He ducked under a high aimed roundhouse and in an instant drew his sword, but rather then taking a stab, he drove it into the juggurnauts shirt, then he kicked off of him, unbalancing him, and drew the blade out quickly. 14 had used the blade as a crutch since it had been there, but found now without it slipped over and collapsed on the ground. Link immedietly took advantage of the situation and threw a bomb straight at him. 14 tried to move but the fuse quickly ran out, leaving a massive explosion that echoed throughout "PHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM". When the dust cleared, 14 lay unmoving and barely breathing, Link quickly ran past him towards the village.

"Now...! All of you will submit! Submit to the power of my armies!!" Ebemons voice echoed from a megaphone, the men were concerned about it, but felt that finding their way through the grass was more important, the two remaining women, Madame Meow Meow and Mama, were confused and trying to figure out where the voice was coming from. Either way, no one was very intimidated. "Grrr...why aren't they listening?!"

"No need to pout Dad" one of the men stated, "I'm sure they'll listen after a display of your power" Duane quietly wondered to himself how anyone could tell if Ebemon was pouting or not, as his mouth was a grate.

"Hmmm...good idea..now who to blow up..." his eyes shifted about, and he decided the telephone booth would be a good target, the metal tendrils along his side all shifted about as he prepared himself, then his gun shifted from the mass of tentacles that mingled as his "legs". For a full minute, he just stood, staring at his target, building in energy, and without warning "PLANET, DESTROYER!!" with a burst of radiant light, a thin beam of glittering energy burst from the tip of the gun, streaming outwards towards the booth, and sunk in, dissapearing. Nothing happened for a moment, but then the booth glowed for an instant, and exploded in fire. "Hmmph, maybe now they'll listen, 13, go round up the men, we can use them as bargaining chips..." a gaunt, smiling figure behind him nodded.

"As you wish...father...".

Sorcerymon had just woken up, she had immedietly noticed that her husband wasn't there, and decided to investigate the situation. She walked slowly into the bathroom, still too braindead from sleep to get a helpful idea of where he might be, and looked into the mirror. She saw her own groggy face looking back at her, and began combing the messy blonde tangles into a shimmering sea of gold. Slipping on her large pointed wizards hat, and hiding her delicate face behind the collar of her cloak, she looked again at the mirror, only seeing her eyes staring back, with faint patches of light blue skin rimming them. She walked out at a brisk step, she knew he would have left a message, and went into the video room. As she entered the blacked out chamber, she was pleased to find a DVD disc that no doubt had an explanation of where he had had to run off too, she pushed it into the tray.

Blip...blip...Ebe Cam! An image of Ebemon popped up a moment later, but something seemed wrong, the background seemed so much...larger..., "Hi sweety! I'm kinda going to take over Koholint and stuff, love ya, and, oh yeah, I kinda sorta shrunk myself and the boys, well, gottagoloveyabye!" the screen turned off as Sorcerymon dropped the remote in shock.

Marin was getting a bit scared. Not for the safety of the missing men, though she had figured out they must have been shrunk. Rather it was scary how much of a power trip this was all giving her. She had taken out the entire Moblin strike force without any effort, and it felt, good. She didn't want to revert into some horrible monstrous person that would torture and kill, she had to rid herself of her feeling...right after she found the rest of those Moblins. The Moblins had tortured her village for as long as she could remember, raiding it as they pleased, fearing only Bow-Wow, who they had actually stolen once. Thankfully, Link had put a stop to that. Her cheeks flushed a bit as she thought about Link, what would he think of what had happened to the Moblins? She saw a cave, it was just outside of the forest, on the other side from the village, and there were tiny tracks through the grass leading towards it. The wind blew slightly, catching bits of broken grass and spreading them about, adding a kind of expecting atmosphere as she looked into the cave. She slowly stepped in, the room was empty, just a few bones lying about, adding an eerie effect to the almost entirely black scene before her.

Link had finally reached the village. There was something amiss as he entered. The woman were out wandering about, but no one else was in sight. He heard a rustling come from the grass, and looked to see one of the quadruplets running through the tall green stalks. "Link! Thank goodness your here! Look what happened to me!!" Link just gave him a stare for a moment. "Oh, right, your small too..."

"I'm not sure how to reverse this...but theres some villains out there, and you can be sure they're the ones who..." He hadn't the time to finish as suddenly a net sprang up around the young boy, whisking him away into the brush.

"Link! Heeeeeeeeeelp!!" Link ran forward to try and see what had happened. As he did, large wooden spikes began popping up from the ground. He easily jumped away from them and sliced them in half, running through the opening. He saw a young man in a suit similar to the hulk he'd beaten earlier. This one had black hair draping down his face, with two slit eyes peaking out from them, and a gaunt complexion. Knowing it was useless to ask questions, Link picked up a nearby pebble and hurled it at the figure, who was able to leap backwards to avoid it. The man leapt away into the brush as mantraps and nets sprang up towards Link. Link immedietly took out a bomb and tossed it at the traps, he then instinctively reached for his shield, too late remembering he no longer had it. The bomb hit one of the mantraps, immedietely exploding in a deafening roar. Link put his arms in front of him in a block as the rippling cloud of energy seered over him and sent him backwards. As he hit the ground, he slowly began to black out...what was going to happen to the village?

13 grinned to himself. He had gotten away from Link, and this boy was the last of the males in the village. As he reached the rest of the group, he slung the net down onto a pile of others, the little boy shivering and sobbing in a fetal position, as were his brothers. The older men were attempting to give a strong appearance for the children, though they too were worried. Ebemon spoke up in his whirr of a voice. "Good job 13, you seem to be breathing harder, was there a problem?"

"I ran into Link Father...it would appear 14 was not able to take care of him." There was a moment of silence in the group, then Ebemons whirr intruded again.

"Alright...6, go find 14, the rest of you stay here while I make the demands." A boy with blue hair nodded to Ebemons request. "Gotcha Dad!" he then ran off at a startling quick speed.

"Ahem.." Ebemon brought a microphone to his mouth, huge speakers had already been set up. "Attention women of this village!! I have taken residence in the town square! And kidnapped all your men! Though we are of diminuitive size, we are still quite dangerous, as can be seen from the condition of your boys, and the Telephone booth we destroyed. Please enter the Square immedietely to hear the nature of our demands!"

Marin had finally reached the end of the tunnel. She'd grown accustomed to the dank smell, and now in the darkness her eyes could make out the huddled figures of the remaining Moblin raiders, doing their best not to be seen by her. She shifted her weight from one leg to the other as she thought of how to deal with them. For the Moblins, it was a terrifying few moments. She was looking down at them with a judging scowl, her visage towering above. They had seen already that their attacks weren't strong enough, and were now forced to cower and hope she would spare them. "Alright..." her voice was booming from their vantage. "I've decided, I'm going to give you all a chance to reverse your ways." They all looked up, now intently listening to what might be their salvation. "If your willing to stop your attacks and raids, and deal with our villages peacably, walk infront of me." They were hesitent at first, after all, this could be a trap.

However, realizing that they were doomed either way, they scuttled across the granite floor and kneeled down in front of her, quivering in spite of their long combat training. She kneeled down as well, her arm extending towards them. Her fingers and palm blocked out their view of the world. Some of them let out shrieks while others tried to get up and run, but it was all for nothing. Within an instant, her hand had completely enveloped them. The fingers curled around them like massive bars, while her palm edged into their faces, they were trapped. They immedietely felt dizzy as she lifted them off the ground and to her face, uncurling her hand. They tumbled around on her palm for a moment, and slowly looked up, some of them on the verge of tears. "Now, understand that you'll need to be peaceful even if you return to your normal sizes." She was going to have to bluff for this next part, but it was okay, as long as it made the Moblins behave themselves. "Or else, I'll have you shrunk again." She gave a cold stare, and the Moblins nodded, beside themselves in a kind of panic. Her cold look melted into a kind smile. "All right then...your free to go." She lowered her hand and allowed them to run off. She then turned and left the cave, sincerely hoping she had done the right thing.

Link coughed and slowly opened his eyes. Stupid, stupid stupid!! He didn't know how long he'd been unconcious. The glaring sun looked so different from this perspective, it was impossible to tell how much time had passed. He felt the ground beneath him trembling slightly. Rocks the size of his head vibrated and jumped off the ground ever so slightly. He knew something was coming his way. Normally he would have expected it to be some huge, reptilian monster, but he knew better by now. He slowly got to his feet, his legs barely able to support his weight, and looked onto the horizon. The shuddering ground continued as he saw Marin exiting the Lost Woods, now rounding the well. He'd been blown away from the tall grass of the village, and was now on a beaten dirt path. His knees wobbled and he fell over slightly as her next footfall caused another reverberation through the earth. He had to get her attention somehow...but with what? He scanned his inventory for something he could use. Everything was so small...how could be possible use any of it to get her to notice him? He wished he had his grappling hook, but that had been lost with all his other items when he crashed onto this island. His eyes rested upon the bombs. While normally he would never even consider using them on one of his friends...Marin was large enough now, it was probably the only way to get her to notice him. Link took a deep breath, lit a fuse, and hurled it at the young girl.

Marin felt a sudden flash of heat on her ankle. She took a step back and looked at the ground. There she saw a small greenish figure. At first she thought it was a grasshopper but...no, a grasshopper couldn't have bit her could it? She stooped down a bit, and nearly fell over when she saw what it was. "LINK!! Are you okay?!" Link was about to respond, but before he could her hand was upon him. She carefully scooped her fingers under him, and began hoisting him into the air, it gave him a sinking feeling. "Link, what happened? First the Moblins, now you..." Link shook his head and looked up at her worried face. Her eyes were nearly as big as he was, and they were quivering with a concern that was on the verge of tears.

"I'm not sure Marin, all I know is that it has something to do with some bad guys who are in the village as we speak." Marin suddenly got a determined look and began walking towards the village. "Wait Marin! What are you doing?!"

"I'm going to get you back to normal Link!" she boomed back to him, already entering the village.

6 sped back to where Ebemon and his brothers were. "Guys! 14 was totally out of it so I put him back in the ship, but we have bigger problems! Some red head is coming with Link and she looks pissed off!" Duane immedietely commented on the situation.

"Ebe, sir, this is all a bad idea. We should go back and find a way to restore ourselves to normal size!"

"No Duane, that won't help at all," Ebemon retorted, "you see, since we weren't shielded from the pulse that turned us this way, we'd need to be hit by a blow of equal force to turn to normal, hence once again unshielded, and EVERYONE would turn back to normal, and I'd rather deal with Marin then a chain chomp who wants to eat my torso." Duane sighed in resignation, why did they even take him along? "Ah...here she is now..." Marin was indeed coming up quickly. Her strides took her through the town at a rapid pace as she went to the town square, where her eyes could already make out tiny figures. Ebemon took a step back and looked up at her, his tendrils behind his back, as if he were politely folding his arms. "Well well well..." his voice moved through the speakers, allowing it to be clearly audible to Marin. "It appears Link and his not-so-little girl friend have teamed up to stop us..." Marin stopped a few feet away from them.

"Whatever you are, return Link and the others to normal! If you don't I'll, I'll break you in two!" Her eyes were filled with anger at what had happened to her friend and family.

"Now now, no need to get testy...I don't think you understand whose in control here." Ebemon continued looking upwards with no outword sign of being worried. Marin simply smiled with just a hit of devious intent.

"Oh really? I think I'm in charge, your men are all hiding behind you." Ebemon turned his head slightly and saw she was telling the truth. Duane, and all 11 of his children he had with him were hiding behind him.

"Heh...so you spook the boys and the hired help and you get a big head...?" He began chuckling slightly, he began again, his voice raising itself in intensity. "You, you think I'm going to back down because some little kids are scared of you?! Heheheheh...WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! PLANET DESTROYER!!!" He snapped his cannon from behind his back and shot a thin beam of energy towards her. Marin flinched as it sped through her shoulder, blood trickling from the wound. "Meh..." Ebemon spat, "I guess that's all it can do without charging up...well it's still enough to kill an annoying little girl!!" He took aim again, this time for her head.

"Marin we need to get out of here NOW!!" yelled Link from his vantage point in her hand. Marin was still somewhat in shock from being shot.

"R-right!!" She turned and ran as another beam barely went over her head. Duane looked at Ebemon, still slightly shaken up.

"You just, shot a girl man..." his voice quivered a bit.

"Yes well I'd hate for someone to think I was sexist...now, GET BACK TO WORK ALL OF YOU!!! I WANT THIS TOWN DOMINATED BY NIGHTFALL (following content censored due to unnecesarry profanity)!!!

"Yes Dad!!" choked out the various boys as they scrambled around.

"Thanks Link...you've been being really kind to me...ever since you got here...ow!!" She winced again as Link continued treating her wound. Her dress was lowered slightly so that her shoulder was exposed, and Link was dilligently rubbing it with special herbs, and whenever a part was completely clean, he would wrap it over with some bandages. It was difficult work, he had to climb around her shoulder just to wrap the bandage around once, but he knew it was necesarry to ensure she'd be okay. "Link...I'm sorry...I wasn't strong enough to stop them...now the whole village is in trouble..." Link finished the last wrap, then looked up at her. He'd rarely gotten a chance to admire her beauty, but now it was impossible not to. Her face was tanned lightly, due to her living on this tropical island her entire life, but it looked natural nonetheless. Her locks of hair were a vibrant orange and streamed across her face. Her eyes sparkled as she spoke, they looked so inviting, like pools that he wanted to let himself sink into. Her lips were drawn into a sad frown...he wanted to cheer her up.

"Don't blame yourself Marin," he offered, "no one could expect you to stop that coward...grrr, it makes me wish I had the mirror shield again, then I'd be able to put him in his place!!" She looked up, now looking somewhat startled.

"Mirror shield? I've heard legends of that being atop Eagles Tower...and...um..." Link jumped up.

"Really?! Thats wonderful!! We have to go there Marin!!" Marin blushed and smiled slightly.

"Okay Link, lets go get some bad guys!"

The trip to Eagles Tower had been an arduous one, they'd already taken several days. But now, finally, they stood before the massive, bird encrested fortress. Marin stared into the dark opening of the door way, visibly looking worried. "I've never gone into a dungeon before...so many stories about the monsters that live inside..." Link peeked out from her hair.

"It's no big deal Marin, all the monsters will be tiny, you just need to watch out for the booby traps, I'll help you spot those, we do this as a team." She nodded, a look of determination growing on her face again, as she walked into the forboding fortress. Her footsteps echoed off of the polished stone ground, throughout the entire tower, it felt incredibly empty.

"I guess your right Link...all the monsters must be-" she was cut off as a Kirby leapt out from behind a vase. Though it was still small, that didn't stop it from floating past her face at a high enough speed to cause her to shriek and step back in surprise. "Eeeeeeek!"

Link drew his sword and shield and prepared himself as the Kirby landed on Marins head, and rushed for him. With a flash he sent the blade into the creatures rubbery, pink flesh. He was shocked as the blade merely bounced off harmlessly, and the Kirby gave an evil grin. "What the heck!?" Link wouldn't have a chance to say anything else as it opened up its maw and begin sucking him in. He tried to yell out but it was lost in the deafening roar, like a vaccuum, coming from the blobs oversized mouth. Just as he was about to loose his grip, the pull on him stopped. Confused, he whirled around.

The evil Kirby felt itself being hoisted through the air by a powerful grip pinched onto its back. It tried desperately to squirm out of it but found it to be far too strong. Moments later, the motion stopped, and in front of it the face of a beautiful young girl blocked out all else. "So you like eating people huh?" the girls voice bellowed around it, "Where I come from, Marshmellows like you are the ones who get eaten!" It tried desperately to wriggle out of her grip but it was all in vain. Her mouth opened up slightly, her lips parting just enough to show a black, empty void inbetween. The Kirby once again tried desperately to shake loose, but it could feel itself being lowered towards the opening mouth. By now two rows of white teeth were visible, and a pink tongue at the bottom. It could feel her hot breath hit against it as it was lowered past her lips, the fingers let go of it now, causing it to helplessly plummet downwards. The tongue flew upwards, slamming it onto the roof of her mouth. Before it could even catch its breath the tongue shifted to the right, daintily placing the terrified puffball between two sets of molars. They grinded together, completely crushing its small body, and then the tongue raised to the roof again, this time causing the whole mouth to jerk in a swallowing motion. The helpless monster tried desperately to move, but a wave of saliva cascaded down, sealing it's fate as it dissapeared into the darkness and warmth of her throat.

Link gasped in disbelief. "Woah, I didn't know you were capable of that Marin." She plucked him out of her hair and smiled down at him.

"Don't worry Link, I'd never do anything like that to you. But there was no point in letting it go just so it could hurt more people right?" Link nodded in agreement, and the two of them set off. As she walked up the stairs from floor to floor, Marin was oblivious to the small Gibdos and Goombas, some were quick enough to get away, others were crushed out of existance beneath her sandals. Soon Link noticed something to be concerned about however. A large metallic tower with a single, ghostly eye...

"Watch out Marin! It's a Beamos! Don't let it see you!" Marin didn't know why, but she decided it was best to listen to him. She carefully edged around the rotating eyes line of sight, till she finally made it past. "Nice work, those things can fire lasers from their eyes."

"Eek! Thanks for the warning Link!" Marin blushed slightly again, but hurried on into the next room. It was here that the both of them saw a treasure chest, the Mirror Shield at last! As the headed towards it, a hollow, echoey laughter erupted. "Huh!? Whose there?" Marin said cautiously.

"I'm the Grim Creeper! Heheheh, and me and my brothers are gonna beat you up!!" Marin squinted and noticed a small skeleton and a few gnat sized keese flying around him on the treasure chest.

"Ugh I don't have time for you." She extended her thumb and brought it down on them, silencing their tiny screams with a quick and satisfying crunch. "Now for the treasure..." She lifted open the chest, and inside was a beautifully hewn shield, made almost completely of a shining golden mirror. "Link! We found it!"

"Great job Marin! You did it!" Link proudly shouted. But he was taken off gaurd as Marin leaned to the side slightly, planting her soft lips on him, enveloping most of the upper half of his body in their warm, relaxing embrace. She giggled as she drew away from it. "Are you okay Link?" The tiny hero tottered back and forth dizzily, was bright red, and his hair seemed messed up.

"Y-yeah, I'm...I'm just, fine..." Link managed to blurt out, his mind still in a rush from what had just happened. Though to her it had been a quick kiss, for him it had been an amazing experience. She giggled again.

"Alright Link, now let's get back to the village and show those jerks we mean business!" She winked and ran off back towards the exit.

The entire village was now under martial law. The women were either caged or forced to cook food for their captors. The men were simply kept as bargaining chips. Plans were already being set to invade Animal Village next. "Alright..." Ebemons voice droned, "4 and 13 will stay here and keep an eye on everyone, the rest of us will continue on to Animal village and take it over. Upon doing so successfully we can set up new government and have this place completely under control." The rest nodded and began getting supplies ready. Just then one of the Quadruplets jumped up.

"Look! Marin! Marin and Link are back!!" Ebemon and company quickly swirled around to see the towering maiden thundering towards them, Link at her shoulder.

"So your back to die eh? Pity, I think I'd have liked you better as a seagull." Ebemon snapped his cannon into place. "Or have you come to surrender, like a good girl?" Marin simply glared down at him.

"I'm here to set my friends free and get you out of here for good!" She stomped her right foot to the ground, causing Duane and a few of the younger boys to fall over.

"Oh dear me I'm petrified, whatever will I do?" said Ebemon in a voice that oozed sarcasm. "Oh right, I'm going to blast you into the abyss, silly me...PLANET DESTROYER!!" A thin beam of light shot from his cannon, straight towards Marins forehead.

"Not this time you mechanical squid!" Marin yelled out, pulling the Mirror shield out from behind her back. The beam bounced off of it and sent itself hurtling straight through Ebemons chest, leaving a massive hole. Ebemon twitched and looked down in shock.

"What the...what the....(following content is once again censored due to unnecesarry profanity)!!" Ebemon looked up in a shocked rage, only to see Marin's foot hurtling towards him. With a metalic clang, his body was sent up into the air, landing a good 8 yards away. "Ugh...." The other villains were frightened to see their leader bested, and jumped into the small craft that had been prepared to go to Animal Village.

"Let's get the heck out of here dad!" shouted 6 as he leaned out of the crafts doorway and grabbed Ebemon, blasting off towards their main ship again.

"There...now they're gone for good..." Marin let out a huff, and brushed some hair out of her face. "I just hope you can get back to normal soon Link..." Link smiled up at her.

"Hopefully someday Marin, but till then, I could get to like this..."

Ebemon crawled back into his lair. What a humiliating turn of events. The damage he had sustained would repair itself in a week though, then he'd be ready. Till then, he'd have to scope out another good place to take over...and oh, he'd get his revenge, he'd-

"EBE!! WHERE WERE YOU!?" An obviously angry voice shouted out as the entire hallway began shaking around. Ebemons voice dropped into a squeeky cry.

"Meep!" He looked around for something to hide behind but by then it was too late, Sorcerymon had already rounded the corner. "H-hey sweety, sorry for the suddeness of my departure and all bu-" he decided she probably wouldn't listen while her eyes were on fire.

"I WAS WORRIED ABOUT YOU! AND YOU WERE GALAVANTING AROUND IN A VILLAGE FULL OF GIANT WOMEN!? WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A LOOOOOOOONG TALK ABOUT THIS!"

"Well, um, to be fair, it was mostly tiny guys, with a few regular sized women, and I didn't do anything." he knew she was more worried about him then anything, but seeing as she was this big, he didn't want to take chances.

"IT'S GOING TO BE A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG TIME BEFORE YOU GO ANYWHERE AWAY FROM ME!!" Before he could protest, she'd grabbed him and tied him onto her belt. She took a few deep breathes, then looked down. "Now you can just stay there for awhile and think about how you should tell me that you shrunk yourself and our children before going out where I can't reach you." With that she walked off, Ebemon attached.

Duane let out a sigh as he watched them leaving. "I really need to ask for a raise..."
